The Israel National Trail: Navigation
http://theisraelnationaltrail.blogspot.com/2016/03/navigation.html
The Israel National Trail. From Dan to Eilat: Nov 2015 - Jan 2016. Thursday, 10 March 2016. Generally speaking the trail is well way marked with a triple stripe (orange, blue and white) that one soon becomes good at picking up at a distance, just like the red and white GR flashes in France or the yellow Camino arrow in Spain. The familiar waymark of the INT. So that leaves me with technology and as ever I like to have two means of doing the same thing. And a reliable power source. Like all the files I me...
The Israel National Trail: Hazards
http://theisraelnationaltrail.blogspot.com/2016/03/hazards-and-climate.html
The Israel National Trail. From Dan to Eilat: Nov 2015 - Jan 2016. Saturday, 12 March 2016. You’re going to be out of doors a lot, so of course the weather is a hazard, but in winter it is generally mild and not threatening. You are unlikely to get heat stroke. You might get wet and cold, but are unlikely to freeze. However flash floods are a risk, especially as the rain may fall well upstream of you where it will be less obvious. Other than humans there are no really dangerous animals. The number two ha...
The Israel National Trail: Photos

The Israel National Trail. From Dan to Eilat: Nov 2015 - Jan 2016. Saturday, 12 March 2016. Here is a small selection of photos for a bit of inspiration. The path follows a line of hills covered in forest. Moving just a little slower than we were. Looking across the Sea of Galilee. Looks walkable. Example of a trail meal for one. Into more open country. The trail goes over that hill. Easy and enjoyable walking though little hills. Wonderful to sit under the stars by a fire. Skyscape on Poleg beach. View ...
The Israel National Trail: Water
http://theisraelnationaltrail.blogspot.com/2016/03/water.html
The Israel National Trail. From Dan to Eilat: Nov 2015 - Jan 2016. Saturday, 12 March 2016. 6x15 1x1 2x0.5 1x0.75=11.75 litres! No topic here is more important than Water. In the bundle of files (see under Download) there is a document called " Hiking the desert Arad to Eilat.pdf. It may be worth carrying this with you if you decide that this is a method that suits you. The bulk of the text in this post can be found in that document. The Shvil Israel divides into three stages going from North to South.
The Israel National Trail: Resupply
http://theisraelnationaltrail.blogspot.com/2016/03/resupply.html
The Israel National Trail. From Dan to Eilat: Nov 2015 - Jan 2016. Saturday, 12 March 2016. As with water so with food and fuel. Generally the north and the middle have sufficient resupply options, while the south needs a lot more planning. These are the main places where I bought food. Occasionally there was a cafe or gas station. These are not included, but will be on your map. At least they were all on the maps.me map which comes from OpenStreetMap. Day 0 Tel Aviv. Day 1 (am) Kibbutz Dan. 6 days food,...

Iceland Traverse: July 2014
http://icelandtraverse.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
A North to South Traverse of Iceland in July 2014. Tuesday, 29 July 2014. On the other hand you will. See some scenery that is pretty much unique to Iceland. Enjoy one of your best hot baths ever. Emerge thinner and tougher than when you started. Have some sun and no wind to sit and enjoy a waterfall view. Or you may not! Have plenty of empty space to yourself and your thoughts. Get covered in black sand overnight. Learn to treat a river crossing as an opportunity to have clean feet (albeit cold ones).
Iceland Traverse: Afterword
http://icelandtraverse.blogspot.com/2014/12/afterword.html
A North to South Traverse of Iceland in July 2014. Tuesday, 30 December 2014. I have finally (Dec 2014) loaded some photos and panoramas, so now this blog is more or less complete. Link above to get you started. I hope you find something useful. There is also a new link to my Scottish National Trail blog. However. for th...

http://guerrillatrek.blogspot.com/2015/01/summary.html
A Walk in remote Western Nepal. Sunday, January 18, 2015. No permits or TIMS card *. Friendly and helpful people. Seeing life here as it is lived. Lots of domestic animals. Farming in full swing. All this could change. See Post Annapurna disaster section. Very basic and repetitive food ( in some ways this is also a plus. Very basic accommodation and often no toilet. Very poor sleep at times ( this might be a purely personal thing. Centre of attention all the time ( especially for women.

Pyrenees High Route 2013: October 2013
http://pyreneeshighroute.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Pyrenees High Route 2013. A traverse of the Pyrenees from Hendaye to Banyuls by the HRP. Thursday, 31 October 2013. For most of the central section water is readily available from streams or lakes. It may need treatment, but at least it exists. However in the Basque country and on some of the crests near the end there are stretches with little or no water. It was something to which one should devote a certain degree of attention. P for his great help buying much of my new gear in the US. CU, A&J, GV and ...

The Israel National Trail
The Israel National Trail. From Dan to Eilat: Nov 2015 - Jan 2016. Tuesday, 15 March 2016. The Israel National Trail stretches 1000km from Dan in the North to Eilat on the Gulf of Aqaba. It crosses a wide variety of terrain: hills, forest, scrub, fields, towns and above all desert. A little favoured by my status as a rare foreigner walking the entire length of the country. For what it is worth here is a map. Enjoy exploring the Shvil. Those who inspired me to go. Those who helped me prepare. Those who we...

The Messianic Voice of Liberty. About The Israel Observer. About Joey G. Dauben. November 24, 2011. Bat Zion in Duncanville Justifies ‘Going Out to Eat After Sabbath Services’. Or the rabbi-created calendars, instead of following what Moses taught (i.e., Rosh HaShanah is set by the sighting of the new moon, not the sighting of what rabbis from generations have pre-set dates upon), what about that?
