This past week I got to go along on a few trips through the province of Los Santos to scout out some old growth forests. Here are some photos from the trip. Following a local farmer to the forest. Hike up to the forest. Taking in the view. Hiking through the tall stuff. View from Pan de Azucar near Valleriquito. A mostly dead) snake. Taking in the view. Panorama of the Azuero.

The Kellys: January 2015
http://irishkellys.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 25, 2015. Hawaii Part 6 - Oahu, the final island. The last leg of our journey was a two-night stay on Oahu. The kids were so exhausted from traveling and staying up late that Patrick and Charlie both fell asleep sitting up in the shuttle from the airport to our hotel. On our first night, we walked to Waikiki Beach. Along the way we saw people hula hooping in a park. We all joined in! We got dinner at a little stand at Waikiki Beach. The kids had fun playing in the sand. To the Memory of t...
The Kellys: August 2015
http://irishkellys.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 20, 2015. In May, my brother and his family came in town for Rory's Baptism. We had a very fun weekend! It started with Patrick's tee ball game on Saturday morning. Then, people gathered at our house. Jim and my brother Patrick worked on installing some cabinets. The rest of us played. Maggie loves her brothers! That evening we had dinner at my parents' house. After dinner, the kids played with all the outdoor toys. They loved pushing each other around in the Little Tykes cars. Field Tri...
The Kellys: Conversation with Charlie this Morning
http://irishkellys.blogspot.com/2015/08/conversation-with-charlie-this-morning.html
Saturday, August 8, 2015. Conversation with Charlie this Morning. At breakfast Charlie started singing Jingle Bells. Yes, it's August. After that, our conversation went like this:. Charlie: I wonder where Santa lives. Me: I think the North Pole. I wonder why he lives there. M: Good question. I wonder why he lives there, too. C: Maybe because he is dressed up as Santa. M: Ummm.yeah. Maybe. C: And because he gives out presents. I think this is a good example of the logic of a three-year-old. I Love The Zoo!
The Kellys: February 2015
http://irishkellys.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 18, 2015. In September, Jim and I had the opportunity to tour Busch Stadium with his co-workers. It was pretty awesome! A highlight was pitching in the bullpen. Jim made a call to the bullpen from the dugout. This may be the only time we ever sit in the "green seats.". Here is Mike Shannon's view from the media booth. We learned he broadcasts while sitting on a yoga ball! Sunday, February 15, 2015. First Day of School. The first day Jack and Patrick both went to school:. On Sunday, Ja...
The Kellys: WAO 2015
http://irishkellys.blogspot.com/2015/05/wao-2015.html
Thursday, May 14, 2015. In February, we went to Milwaukee for Jim's sister's WAO party. WAO (pronounced "wow") stands for "Winter's Almost Over." Winter is nowhere near over in Wisconsin in February! The kids had fun playing in the snow. I have no idea what is going on here, but it looks cold. Karen and Lenny set up a "stage" in their living room and people bring their instruments and music and get up and play. It's a lot of fun! Jim and his brother Paul did some sound checks after setting up.
The Kellys: Field Trip and Other Fun Times
http://irishkellys.blogspot.com/2015/08/field-trip-and-other-fun-times.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. Field Trip and Other Fun Times. May was a great month! With my birthday and Mother's Day, how could it not be? Here are some pictures from the fun we had in the first half of the month. I got to go on Patrick's class field trip to Grant's Farm. Feeding the goats is a must! Charlie and Maggie got to come along, too. Maggie fell asleep on the short ride home. Charlie probably would have fallen asleep, too, if the ride were a few minutes longer. Rory was there, too. Then we went to m...
The Kellys: December 2014
http://irishkellys.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 4, 2014. Visit with Santa Claus. I'm going out of order again. I took the kids to see Santa Claus at the train station tonight. Maggie was clearly not a fan of the guy in the red suit! By this point even Santa was wondering when I was going to take Maggie back. The rest of the crew was in awe. Jack took his time telling Santa the three things he wanted. Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Hawaii, part 4. The beach tent was perfect for Maggie's naps. Addie loved the beach! My training for my sec...

Monday, September 29, 2014. Hawaii, part 1. In July, we went to Hawaii for TWO WEEKS! It was an amazing trip and I have lots of pictures to share. I will share them over several posts so as to not overwhelm you (or me). My parents rented a house, with a guest house, on the island of Kauai for a week. My parents, my three brothers and their families, and our family stayed there and it was awesome! Here is the view from the lanai as the sun rose one morning:. I've zoomed in on the picture:. At the luau, we...
The Kellys: November 2014
http://irishkellys.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 26, 2014. We'll take a little break from the Hawaii pictures to bring you a few pictures of this cutie who turned 10 months old today. Wednesday, November 12, 2014. Hawaii, part 3 - Helicopter Tour of Kauai. Jim and I went on helicopter tours of the island of Kauai. With four kids to worry about, we decided to go on different helicopters.just in case. Jim rode with David and Melanie. This blog post will pretty much just be amazing views from the helicopter. Look at all the waterfalls!
The Kellys: New Orleans
http://irishkellys.blogspot.com/2015/08/new-orleans.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. Ten years ago, this happened. To celebrate our anniversary, we went to New Orleans in April. I had never been to New Orleans, but had wanted to go. Jim had been several times and was excited to show me around. My parents kept the kids for the 3 nights (and 4 days)! This was waiting in our room: champagne, flowers, and chocolate-covered strawberries! We quickly dropped off our bags and took a cab to the festival. We arrived just in time to see The Who. It was crowded! Was close by,...

Sounds like the end of the world...
Sounds like the end of the world. Tuesday, March 8, 2016. Sometimes I think that we forget about relationships; that's life. I'm not a preacher. I'm a sinner, just like you. I was lucky though, to have people who pushed me into situations that were uncomfortable. I overcame things that were holding me back. We all did. It's not over. Sounds like the end of the world,. Sunday, March 6, 2016. When my sister and I were kids. Extreme poverty and I can't know where I'd be without that. Anyway, on a different ...

Jungle Telegraph | Love ain't stuck, it just moves slow
Love ain't stuck, it just moves slow. September 5, 2013. A humorous exchange I witnessed recently on the bus in David, the second largest city in Panama. A newspaper vendor stepped into the bus and was trying to move his product. Teacher found dead in David! Teacher found dead in David! And they found another man dead as well. That’s two men dead! Alright then, I’ll take one. How much for the paper? Kickin’ it in the woods. August 1, 2013. Giras por la provincia. July 29, 2013. Hike up to the forest.

The Jungle - Thailand Edition
The Jungle - Thailand Edition. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Thai people have been celebrating Loy Kratong lately. It's a festival of light, and all through out this month you can see these paper lanterns floating into the sky. A couple weeks ago, our family went to an event here where they release hundreds of these into the sky all at once! It was really amazing and beautiful! These women are making loy kratong boats to sell. These are floated down the river with a candle on it. Getting the lantern ready.
The Virginian Times
Thursday, February 21, 2013. My friend at the Bureau. We love to travel. And being a PWD (Person With Diabetes), I am always excited when I see someone with that tell-tale tubing, another ‘borg’ like me. There’s an instant connection – a shared organ or something like that that just draws me to these other unknown (but soon to be known) PWDs. This Christmas break I took the boys to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to see money being made. It’s pretty cool, btw! And pulled out my pump. 8220;That’...
