This year I spent most of the summer in London, I was keen to try my hand at another batch of jam but didn't want to spend a fortune on punnets of fruit from supermarkets. The one berry i knew i could find in abundance, and for free, a few minutes walk from my house, were blackberries. I reserved some of the riper berries for eating and pie making and used most of them for the jam. 125 kg jam sugar.

Wednesday, 30 July 2014. The biggest dilemma came with the button choice. I have so many buttons at home but always nothing to go with what I've made and I end up buying more. But I do love buttons so much I don't think I'll ever stop buying them just because. I went with a simple wooden heart button from Liberty, which helps to balance the pinkness of it all. Sadly a continuing fact of life is that it's hard to get a 4 year old to stand still for a photo. *sigh.*. She still looks lovely in it though.

Rock and roll baking 2009. This was a work of art, endurance and birthday love. Unbelievably, this tasty creation was formed from round cakes by my beloved Jeffrey, who vowed to never repeat her efforts due to the difficulty involved. From another friend I received gourmet dried black spaghetti as part of a yummy food birthday hamper, and we added the strands after this photo was taken to form some less-than-functional strings. Cooking eggs in Japan. So it’s not rocket science, it’s not even make a bicarbonate of soda volcano science. However, it is simple genius, and who doesn’t get excited about new ways to cook eggs? So I learnt this in Japan, from my favourite Malaysian, and would make it for breakfast after a night of waiting tables in a nepalese yurt, and before hitting the powdery slopes on my nice Tokyoan snowboard. Sunday, August 14, 2011. So, this was our first day in Naples. It was absolutely gorgeous! However, the next day we noticed there were a lot of big fish in the shallow water. Turns out they were trying to "beach themselves" to get out of the water because of toxic algae? It is called "red tide."
