Brian and Shauna's Great Escape. Just another WordPress.com weblog. July 13, 2010. The pictures we took on the inside didn’t really come out because of the low lighting, but here are a few good ones. Entrance to Phong Nha cave. Enter y...

Brian and Shauna's Great Escape. Just another WordPress.com weblog. July 21, 2010. The Mountains of Sapa. In Shauna’s interpretive recreation of the legwarmers, she masterfully demonstrated how mud can also be used as leg decoration. Or perhaps her leg got cold and she thought the mud would help. Looking back on it, I’m not exactly sure what she was trying to accomplish by stepping in such deep mud. Laquo; Ninh Binh. Those pics are great – perfect to enlarge and frame. On July 22, 2010.

Brian and Shauna's Great Escape. Just another WordPress.com weblog. July 14, 2010. Further up the coast we stopped in Ninh Binh for some more caves and… yep. pagodas. That said, these caves resided in a place where gigantic krasts jut out of the rice paddies. We took a rowboat along a river system that cuts straight through the mountains, and the sheer scale of the environment was pretty impressive. River through the base of the mountain. Laquo; Dong Hoi. https://miniretirement.wordpress.com/2010/08/03/heading-home
Brian and Shauna's Great Escape. Just another WordPress.com weblog. August 3, 2010. After roughly 4 months in SE Asia, we finally headed home. We miraculously stayed $2000 under budget, and left feeling like we’d seen everything the countries we visited had to offer. It took 37 straight hours in airports and on planes, but we finally made it back to Dallas for a few days of R&R at my folk’s house. A few Z's at 30,000 feet. Laquo; Perfume Pagoda.
