Fire Horse Studio: November 2011

Handcrafted Kilnformed Glass Art. Friday, November 4, 2011. Now that my frit has arrived, it’s time try a solo frit painting. I’ve chosen “. Come On In ”,. From her instructional painting book Painting with Brenda Harris, Volume 2, Precious Times. As my inspiration. I thought it would translate well in glass and instructional painting books are a great way from me to create educational pieces. My art background is minimal so it’s helpful for me to see how a painting comes together. MAP gas for the torch,.

Musings of a Sheep Ranch: ~ My Christmas Spirit in A Junk Yard ~

http://lifeonasheepranch.blogspot.com/2011/12/christmas-spirit-in-junk-yard.html

Wednesday, December 21, 2011. My Christmas Spirit in A Junk Yard. The ranch has had snow on the ground for 3 weeks now.lot's of snow, which is why I had to go out this morning, and shovel out the back of the pick-up truck so I could drive it to the junk yard. After Mike loaded my piece, he walked over to the store to make change for me, but before he did, he asked me if I was thirsty, would I like something to drink? This experience will stay with me for along time, this was a wonderful gift I received.

Musings of a Sheep Ranch: 2012-01-29

http://lifeonasheepranch.blogspot.com/2012_01_29_archive.html

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Organic veggies from our garden. It's a dance, an ebb and flow. Maybe "progress" means taking a giant step "backward." The world has become so enarmored with technological solutions that many people don't recognize the efficiency of natural ways. We need to follow a more cyclical model: Things are produced, they die, and then they are recomposed through natural processes. In nature, there is no waste. Posted by Shepherdess Kat. Monday, May 7, 2012. Up A Holler, On A Creek, In The Appalachian Mountains. Places find me. I'm drawn to them as if an unseen hand is gently pulling me along saying, "this is where you need to be right now." My whole life, this is the way my gypsy spirit has flowed. I think it's because I'm an old soul, travelling to places I've once been. Mama say's I get it from my granddaddy. I'm fascinated with obtaining information on my people, who were these people? How many fought in the Revolutionary war? I will...

Fire Horse Studio: October 2011

http://firehorseglass.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Handcrafted Kilnformed Glass Art. Wednesday, October 26, 2011. It's here, it's here. I recently traveled to Texas to try my hand at painting with glass under the instruction of Donna Sarafis of Dancing Light Fused Glass (. The finished piece arrived today unscathed, I’m very proud of finished piece, not bad for a first try. The piece measures 21" x 13", was made from bullseye frit and sheet glass, and fired twice. The first fire was to full fuse the second was a tack fuse leaving lots of great texture.
