The Knitting Nanny: April 2016

http://theknittingnanny23.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 27, 2016. The Scarf of Many Colors. To keep my stash interesting and not too old I try to plan my knits one old yarn then one new. Recently I have not been succeeding with that, Stitches West yarn is calling my name! I saw this kit at Stitches in the Twisted Owl Fiber Studio. Booth, left it there, then went back for it because I had to have it. This kit consisted of nineteen. Different colorways all on a gorgeous single ply merino yarn. Sunday, April 24, 2016. I am all about the ombre cr...

The Knitting Nanny: May 2016

http://theknittingnanny23.blogspot.com/2016_05_01_archive.html

Saturday, May 28, 2016. In my last post I talked about how I'm looking for travel knitting because I'm going back to Europe! I'll be there for a month, visiting Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Scotland, and England! I'm so excited (if you couldn't tell by all the exclamation points)! I've been watching the weather and researching what I should pack. I decided I needed to knit a sweater to bring with me. I from Madder Anthology 2: Simple Pleasures. I used Knit Picks Swish. My gauge is always tighter ...

The Knitting Nanny: September 2016

http://theknittingnanny23.blogspot.com/2016_09_01_archive.html

Wednesday, September 28, 2016. I finished my sweater! Woop, woop, woop! Isn't that every knitters worry that their sweater won't fit when they finish? I definitely worried when I adjusted what size I was going to make because my gauge was larger than what the pattern called for. Had I used a smaller needle my sweater would have been bullet proof. But my adjustments ended up being exactly perfect! I can't wait to be able to wear this on my trip to New York in a few weeks! Saturday, September 24, 2016.

The Knitting Nanny: July 2016

http://theknittingnanny23.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 28, 2016. Germany and Austria Adventures. I'm going to start off this post with saying there isn't going to be much knitting in this one. Rachael and I visited some beautiful spots and had some great times that I would like to share! I'm going to write and post photos of some of the highlights of our trip. One of the first days in Germany we visited Drachenfels ruins, this castle ruin has a history similar to King Arthur stories! I have never attended a Pride event and I just happened upon...

Πότε καλή and πότε ανάποδη. Because life is like knitting, work in progress! Zeta (kalianapodi.wordpress.com). I have two half pairs of socks that need their other half to be finished so I can use the needles to knit more socks. My Dreaming of Vacations Socks. Will be done today or tomorrow the latest. After that, the other half pair is next. See, no second sock syndrome here 😉. I believe you all know Molly. From A Homespun House. She knows color as no one does! 12 thoughts on “ The second sock. Summer around here… | Πότε καλή & πότε ανάποδη

Πότε καλή and πότε ανάποδη. Because life is like knitting, work in progress! Summer around here…. Zeta (kalianapodi.wordpress.com). Summer should have more than 24 hours a day. Anybody else feeling like that or it’s just me? Summer is busy. Having a full day job, feeling so tired of the heat, running around to keep up with everything, even trying to sneak in some free time to go swimming, it’s exhausting. And the garden? Oh, the garden! They are so winning me by this point. And the mosquitoes! As for our...

Πότε καλή and πότε ανάποδη. Because life is like knitting, work in progress! Zeta (kalianapodi.wordpress.com). I’m so so proud of myself for this sweater! I present to you the first sweater I designed! You know that the little black dress is an essential piece for any girl’s wardrobe. I believe that a black, cotton, short sleeve sweater is also a must! The yarn is 100% mercerized cotton by E.L. Mouzakis Butterfly Super 10 which is a DK yarn, in black color and I used 4,5mm/US7 needles. As kno...I’m...

Ninety percent wool, ten percent cat hair. May 16, 2016. May 16, 2016. Sometimes it’s a little fun to go outside your comfort zone. I don’t do it a whole lot with knitting because I feel like at this point I know what I like, and I know what my wardrobe needs. This pattern. From start to finish, this top only took four days to complete – that includes blocking. And it was so interesting the whole time! There are mesh short rows, plus pleats. Nothing boring here! Morning Mist – jaykay knits.

https://jaykayknits.wordpress.com/2016/05/03/morning-mist

Ninety percent wool, ten percent cat hair. May 3, 2016. Is one I wanted to knit last year, but just never got around to it. So at the first hint of my fingers itching for a spring knit this year, I cast on. It was a fairly quick project, and like most of my projects, would have been quicker if I could stop myself from casting on everything in the world. Beforehand. So far, it’s working up quickly, and is looking like it’ll be done in plenty of time! 19 thoughts on “ Morning Mist. May 3, 2016 at 1:41 am.
