Cat in my window - The Eternal Struggle for Bliss
http://namelessarchon.livejournal.com/59207.html
The Eternal Struggle for Bliss. Cat in my window. Jan 21st, 2010 at 10:31 AM. There's a cat in my window. He/She just jumped up into the open frame and proceeded to snoop until it saw through the blinds, smelled my fingers, and then hissed at me. He/She is a very pretty and thin feral, big green eyes, and now its sitting just outside the window as I didn't like its manners. 4 comments Leave a comment. Jan 21st, 2010 07:28 pm (UTC). This Past Week....Gus the Cat. - Gabriel Writes
http://gabriel-writes.livejournal.com/67925.html
This Past Week.Gus the Cat. This Past Week.Gus the Cat. Has been rough. Horribly so at times.Very little writing done. That's Gus in my icon picture. He's been with us for almost three years now, his Birthday is coming up in May. He's usually a helpful cat, especially with Jigsaws, Legoes, and ironing. He is not one to cuddle, he just wants to be close by in case he is needed. Currently, he has a mass of cells resting on the juncture of he small intestine and his colon. We've discussed all the outcomes, ...

Notes to Self about Writing Life - Catherine Schaff-Stump
http://cathschaffstump.livejournal.com/11873.html
Notes to Self about Writing Life. Aug 24th, 2012 at 4:26 AM. 1 Just be yourself. Don't schmooze, don't obssess, don't get weird, don't get all theater. It's served you well, being yourself all this time. Stick with it. 2 Just write. Keep at it steadily, keep at it carefully. Do it conscientiously, do it to the best of your ability. 3 See number one again, especially when you feel insecure about number 2. 4 Believe you have a story to tell. Then don't put it off. Tell it. 9 Do not pass judgment on the wri...

The lesser half - The Eternal Struggle for Bliss
http://namelessarchon.livejournal.com/58378.html
The Eternal Struggle for Bliss. Jun 14th, 2009 at 10:44 AM. You know one of my favorite things in the world? When you are reading a book and you place your bookmark in the pages and see that there are more pages 'behind' the bookmark than 'after' it. That magical time when you are over halfway done with the book, which usually means it is a downhill run the end because if you made it that far you should be 'into' it enough that you just blaze through the finish. 2 comments Leave a comment.

Everything I needed the reader to know was right there, and the above info-tell-dump was a complete waste that slowed the story and caused issues with the reader. Incredible. Less is more. who would have thunk it?

Wizards stupid rule! - The Eternal Struggle for Bliss
http://namelessarchon.livejournal.com/57696.html
The Eternal Struggle for Bliss. Jun 6th, 2009 at 10:50 AM. I mean come on, I get it that ‘with great power comes great responsibility’, but there is a point of stupidity in withholding your power. The current book I am reading has a seven-thousand year old wizard who learned his trade from a God, and for all intents and purpose was the 1. Maybe this is the reason markets change, because tales like this no longer hold water with ‘educated’ readers of Fantasy. *shrug*. 12 comments Leave a comment. Yep, cha...

Fear - The Eternal Struggle for Bliss
http://namelessarchon.livejournal.com/59114.html
The Eternal Struggle for Bliss. Jan 19th, 2010 at 10:53 PM. I’m here; I’ve got a dozen crazy ideas bouncing around in my head, but as always nothing to show for it. I realized tonight that Fear stopped me from writing on LJ, stopped me coming here. I didn’t want to be the last one picked, ya know? Did so-in-so get an agent or a book deal? I could only smile and cheer so long before I broke, before I just slunk away. What does this mean? But I miss Ladywolf and Abby and Justin and Kara and Jon and even J ...

Hallelujah! (or how I vanquished the evil soul-sucking writer's drought) - War on Writing
http://justin-pilon.livejournal.com/38959.html
Tough Road to Publication. Or how I vanquished the evil soul-sucking writer's drought). Mar 29th, 2010 at 6:56 PM. I've finished a short story. This might sound pretty ridiculous considering this is a writer's blog, and everybody else is blogging about how they just put their finishing touches on their 18th book, but I've gone through such a drought of late that this is more or less the equivalent to a sale on my happy-happy-scale. 32 comments Leave a comment.
