The evolution of an old farmhouse, an American woman, an Englishman and their dog. Treasure Island. A Different Tale. There are many accounts of lost and found treasures and the idea of uncovering unimaginable wealth is seductive. Many of these supposed fortunes are likely to be myths, or, have been slowly and discretely spent. Take, for example, the German gold that went missing at the end of WWII. It is possible that this gold was smuggled to South America and introduced into the market? More commonly ...

I built my green house! Last Tuesday I went with my dad to get some gardening supplies. I got a green house and some seeds that were on sale. The seeds were only 10 for $1 so I got excited about it until I got to the store and realized they didn’t have many choices. I did get some flowers…. I’m starting my garden… Kind of. Where did I go? Series 3 Land Rover Ramblings. Dilly the Series 3: Repairs, improvements and maintenance on a budget. Electrical improvements – power Part One. This year hasn’t been a good one so far, wasting the summer with too much work, fighting the garden and essential house repairs leaving little time to spend on Dilly. However there have been lots of gigs too so it’s not been all bad. A couple of months ago I cut my hand, not particularly badly,…. August 16, 2016. April 26, 2016. October 18, 2015. Series 3 Land Rover Ramblings. Dilly the Series 3: Repairs, improvements and maintenance on a budget. I fitted this in July but just realised I didn’t write it up then. As part of my experiment in running the vehicle without turbo it was necessary to fit an exhaust manifold using the ‘Glencoyne’ method. The aim was to fit the only manifold I could get hold of (part number ERC9688) which is normally fitted to…. August 17, 2016. Starter motor clean up, new year gig. January 4, 2016. Turbo out – 200di.

Back to Basics – Granny Squares – Pam's Yarns
https://pamsyarns.com/2015/05/29/back-to-basics-granny-squares
Life, crafts and garden. Back to Basics – Granny Squares. Like many other people, after I learnt the basic crochet stitches I progressed to ‘granny squares’ so when I finished my last baby blanket. And, feeling rather nostalgic, I fancied returning to the old, faithful motif. I wanted to make another blanket/throw. With warmer weather approaching (haha! I figured it would be cooler to work with smaller pieces rather than having a cosy blanket on my lap. Then 3 colours – ‘Sunburst’. Progress on my throw h...

The Planter – Part 1. | Growing Yorkshire
https://growyorkshire.wordpress.com/2015/07/14/the-planter-part-1/comment-page-1
A small vegetable garden growing in the North of the UK. The Planter – Part 1. July 14, 2015. I have started a self-watering strawberry planter from a 100L water butt. I got the butt cheap as it had a “dint” in it which was a bonus as it still came with all the extra bits. I have drilled 4 rows of 2.25″ holes which are offset with 20cm/8″ spacing between holes in each row. Later this week, I will add a small 5W pump to cycle water through the butt. Thinking an ATtiny85 IC with a 10k potentiometer to ...

A small vegetable garden growing in the North of the UK. Progress. Fruiting trees and Ripening Strawberries. July 6, 2015. July 6, 2015. A quick update on the plots. The trees are starting to fruit well with no aphids (as yet) and the strawberries are coming a long nicely! Also managed to grab a shot of the first butterfly I have seen this year on my phone. Where did all the time go!? – From Bad to Worsted
https://frombadtoworsted.wordpress.com/2016/04/01/where-did-all-the-time-go
From Bad to Worsted. Knitting, crochet, and some other stuff. Where did all the time go! April 1, 2016. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it’s been nearly two weeks since I’ve written anything! Busy lately, and a ton of unexpected situations, a mix of good and bad, have kept me from having much time to spend at home. I haven’t even touched my computer since Sunday! Of course I intend to continue posting free patterns as well, and none of the patterns I’ve released previously will ever be sold! Liked by 1 person.
