BentUPBike: Happy New Year!!
http://bentupbike.blogspot.com/2012/01/happy-new-year.html
A melting pot for everything from a guy who rides a recumbent. Sunday, January 01, 2012. Haven't posted much on here lately, been busy finishing up work for the year and visiting family for the holidays. I have one more day off work then I'm back at it again. Some people don't do the resolutions for New Years and usually I am among those. This year I figure I should put some down in print, then maybe I will follow them. So here are mine:. 2 Try to be less negative about work and life in general.

Cycling Llama: Century ride
http://buckybikes.blogspot.com/2008/05/century-ride.html
Musings and Tinkerings with Bikes. Thursday, May 1, 2008. Last Sunday I joined Dan and Jim for most of Dan's proposed 200k ride. We continued along until the first stop at about 40ish miles at a sheetz. This was welcome for me, I was starting to get a bit of toe numbness and I just really needed to walk around for a minute or two. I was also starting to feel that I was pushing a bit too hard on the hills and my knees were starting to complain a little. Total distance: 111 miles. I found it really interes...

Cycling Llama: Wheel Building
http://buckybikes.blogspot.com/2008/04/wheel-building.html
Musings and Tinkerings with Bikes. Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Once I was happy with the dish, I did a rough truing then stress relieved the spokes by grabbing parallel pairs and squeezing as hard as I could all the way around the wheel a few times. Then I did a finish truing. I put a dial gauge on it, and I'm good within about 0.3mm. Good enough. Lastly I put the new cassette on. It's an 8 sp SRAM 11-28. All told it took a couple hours working at a relaxed pace and explaining to my 7yo what I was doing.

http://buckybikes.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Musings and Tinkerings with Bikes. Thursday, February 28, 2008. The bike is done with the exception of a couple minor things (hand grips, toeing in the front brake pads, and making a little cap for the top of the steerer extension to be specific). Monday, February 25, 2008. To actually provide the heat source I'm using some stage lights that my dad stores in my garage when he's not using them. seems to work pretty well. Sunday, February 24, 2008. Thursday, February 21, 2008. Ok, so a lot more progress si...

Cycling Llama: Seat Building, Finished!
http://buckybikes.blogspot.com/2008/04/seat-building-finished.html
Musings and Tinkerings with Bikes. Monday, April 14, 2008. Seat Building, Finished! Ok, picking up from where I left off. Once I had the reinforcement on the ribs complete, I needed to put on the final back layer. For this I ordered some knitted fiberglass. I noticed that the knitted glass wasn't totally laminated in two spots on the inside of the rails. What I should. Have done was drill some small holes and inject epoxy to fill the space. What I actually did. Later that day I added the rivets to the no...
