http://anshumani.blogspot.com/2010/10/question-of-legacy.html
Some Random Thoughts on Life. Sunday, October 24, 2010. A Question of Legacy. This is the complete version of a piece I wrote for MW's October issue. Bruised ego was eventually healed. Drinks were chugged endlessly and references were made to the availability of other fish in some imaginary pond (or was it ocean? Back to the present. How do people remember us when we are no longer around (we need not have departed to our heavenly abodes, but perhaps moved to a different city)? Do they miss us? Anyone who...

Anshumani Ruddra's Blog: September 2010
http://anshumani.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Some Random Thoughts on Life. Friday, September 17, 2010. Fathers and Sons; Birds and Bees. This is the first in a series of personalised accounts that I am writing for MW (Man's World) magazine. It was in the May issue (Don't be put off by Shahid Kapoor on the cover. Imagine how I feel - my precious words have gone into that same mag! As I was standing in a large electronic goods store, staring at a vast array of mega-giant television screens which were displaying this work of genius, and chuckling at t...

Vakil's Musings: June 2006
http://vakilsmusings.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 28, 2006. Of kolams and why they should be banned. Many of us have seen Kolams in front of houses in Tamil Nadu. For the uninitiated, Kolams are decorative designs drawn outside homes using rice powder. These designs/ patterns are similar to rangoli minus the colour. You can read more about kolams here. However, I did discover this morning that the practice has not altogether died down (much to my peril! And there are some folks who still do it religiously every morning! But by the time I...

Vakil's Musings: February 2006
http://vakilsmusings.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 27, 2006. Of courts and justice. Judgments were delivered in the past few days in two sensational criminal cases the Jessica Lall murder case and the Best Bakery case. An analysis of the judgments and the background of the cases, throws up some interesting facts. The moral of the story seems to be if you are an Important Person, you can commit a crime and try to get away with it and if you are Very Important, you are sure to get away with it. And the common man continues in his futil...

http://indicubed.blogspot.com/2005/05/indian-government-offers-accreditation.html
Indian Government offers Accreditation to Bloggers. I'm re-posting something i wrote at my blog. As i feel it is an issue that can affect all bloggers :. The Times of India reports that the Government opens doors to bloggers. This is so interesting. Am not sure what to think of it though. Found this graphic via Return of the Warblog. Thought it was funny. On the one hand i am happy that bloggers are being taken seriously, on the other, many questions and some fear running through my mind . Um, we don't n...

http://indicubed.blogspot.com/2005/04/unfettered-vision-of-world.html
An unfettered vision of the world. Literature is a loose cannon. This is a very good thing. Replace "books" and "literature" in the above excerpt with "blogs" and "blogging" and tell me: does it not hold true? Para; amit varma Saturday, April 23, 2005. This looks like a nice new blog to go with your many other blogs. But amit, seriously, just like media are extensions of man, blogs are an extension of literature. Erin other words, we stand on the shoulders of giants. Yes it does.it holds true for blo...

The truth is (sigh) out there. This story in the Financial Express. Made me wonder a bit about Dilip's post on truth and lies in the Indian blogging world, and also made me wonder, not for the first time, whether the journalist who wrote the story has information that none of us do. Just curious- but the only mainstream "fake blog" I've heard about so far is the Sania Mirza one,. Where some idiot was pretending to be Ms Mirza and posting lurid comments in her name. That's one "flog"; are there others?
