Cottesmore - The Living Village. Like many villages in England that exist today Cottesmore for centuries has been a ‘farming village’. However over the last 100 years there have been numerous events that have changed the landscape. Cottesmore - The Living Village. This table shows the most common surnames of those who have been buried in Cottesmore since 1887. Many of these names are still with us today:. From the same data set 75 children aged 2 or under were buried in the graveyard. On Baptisms the following table dating from 1900 to 2012 showed where they lived with 749 out of having 1,304 lived in the parish of Cottesmore with a further 115 from the RAF camp. There were also significant numbers from Barrow given its size.
