Quit the Accounting Job | The Mind That Knows Itself
https://themindthatknowsitself.wordpress.com/2012/06/06/neil-gaiman
The Mind That Knows Itself. Searching for reason and truth by thinking out loud…. Quit the Accounting Job. In no particular order (and these are paraphrased, by the way):. Don’t do something just for the money. If you do, you might not get the money or all the money and then you’ll have nothing. Instead, do something for the sake of the work itself. Brother, I know your shoulders are heavy. With responsibilities you never thought you’d carry. I know your hands feel weaker than they used to be. Sister, I know your pockets are empty. And your hours are spent trying to pull the ends until they meet. I know your heart is harder than it used to be. I know your spirit is fading. August 9, 2011.

Catching Manna: November 2011

Sunday, November 6, 2011. Community: come in and stay for tea. Our schedule forced us out of the church doors before the tea was even poured today. Leaving before tea felt like the equivalent of eating and running. Hi, family. Thanks for the food, gotta run, love ya, bye.". It felt so wrong- and I think that means I'm learning. Learning that being the Church is less about theory and sermons and more about the everyday moments, the common interactions, the breaking of bread, the sharing of tea- so to speak.

Catching Manna: Shoes of Peace
http://catchingmanna.blogspot.com/2011/10/shoes-of-peace.html
Sunday, October 30, 2011. And, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.". As I walked through some anxiety this past week, I clung to the prayer of Charles, one of my missionary dads- "Help Caitlin to walk in the gospel of peace.". Each step that I take, I take in the peace of knowing that I'm following Christ- in my dusty, dirty, shoes of peace. October 30, 2011 at 5:26 AM. Praying for you, dear friend!
