HMT Mixed Media Artist: 'ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS'
http://hmtmixedmedia.blogspot.com/2016/03/enjoy-great-outdoors.html
Thursday, March 17, 2016. ENJOY THE GREAT OUTDOORS'. This is the title of my latest bird pic, using some more of the silver birch bark that I used for cards previously. This time I concentrated on blackbirds, as I have been observing some in my garden recently, and they are such attractive birds. Enjoy the Great Outdoors' (58cms x 21cms) mixed media on wood. HMT Mixed Media Artist: ROBINS FOR CHRISTMAS!
http://hmtmixedmedia.blogspot.com/2016/12/robins-for-christmas.html
Friday, December 9, 2016. Looking back at old Christmas cards, I have noticed that robins feature a great deal - must be that colourful red breast! I therefore decided to make a couple more collaged cards featuring them. I sketched out the robin shape on a white paper, placed white tissue on top and traced it using a black felt tip. I then coloured the bird in with alcohol pens - not only did it colour the tissue, but it also coloured the sketch underneath! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

HMT Mixed Media Artist: BARE TREES
http://hmtmixedmedia.blogspot.com/2013/04/bare-trees.html
Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Before we get too many leaves on the trees, I want to take a look at the wonderful shapes that bare trees make - strong silhouettes in the landscape. I am particularly fond of woods where the atmosphere changes dramatically from season to season. Here are some samples of my work using bare tree shapes. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). HMT Mixed Media Artist: GODMOTHER'S LEGACY
http://hmtmixedmedia.blogspot.com/2013/03/godmothers-legacy.html
Friday, March 15, 2013. Tania (left) pictured in her flat with my mother in 2007. Over the years she used to encourage me with my art. I kept all the handmade and printed cards that she sent me, together with pieces she would give me on my visits to her. I have just had this screen print framed to go on my bedroom wall. I have also scanned Tania's other artwork into my computer for inspiration, and perhaps to incorporate into future collages. She is much missed. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Monday, December 5, 2016. I have done some more Christmas bags and gift tags. These were done by collaging cut paper designs to a brown paper background that had been dried brushed with gesso. HMT Mixed Media Artist: FUNKY DECOUPAGE
http://hmtmixedmedia.blogspot.com/2013/10/funky-decoupage.html
Sunday, October 27, 2013. Recycling and upcycling has been popular for many years - people making use of things that would be otherwise thrown away. You can find many exciting ideas on the internet and when I was looking I came across Sasha Constable. Who cofounded the Peace Art Project in Cambodia (PAPC) in 2003. This started as a sculpture project turning weapons of war into artistic expressions of peace. Now fantastic furniture. Is being made using guns, swords and other destroyed weapons.

HMT Mixed Media Artist: HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
http://hmtmixedmedia.blogspot.com/2016/12/happy-christmas.html
Saturday, December 24, 2016. A Happy Christmas to anyone who reads this! Yes, that is Wells Cathedral and no, we haven't had snow! This is, in fact, a realistic Christmas tableau at The Swan Hotel. They have a garden, over the road from the hotel, which overlooks the cathedral. Great for drinking and sitting out in the summer. Unfortunately, a few days after I took this photograph, I saw in the local news, that it had been vandalised! Let's hope that 2017 brings more kindness into the world.
