TheMorsel

Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Here is a link to my original post. http:/ themorsel.blogspot.com/2012/10/moms-chili.html. I just got back from a long trip to Chicago. My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter was so fun and so busy. We had a great time. She helped me make banana bread! Saturday, December 1, 2012. I am in the mood for soup. Isn't it time you tried making 'mouth pockets'. Now really, come on! If I could ever find escarole in this neck of the woods, I would treat you to a great Italian soup recipe.

TheMorsel: December 2010

http://themorsel.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 24, 2010. I made Tres Leches Cake. For Christmas Eve. Very easy to make and so good. Three kinds of milk are poured over a sponge style cake. Then velvety whipped cream is spread over the top. Wet cake may not sound appealing, but trust me, its heavenly. I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year! Tuesday, December 21, 2010. TheMorsel: Maultaschen (Mouth Pockets)

http://themorsel.blogspot.com/2009/11/maultaschen-german-dumpling.html

Saturday, November 14, 2009. A happy American dumpling). 80 pounds of apples. 30 pounds of grapes. 3 gallons of paint. Those are my excuses. It is snowing and it's cold. I am staying inside today but Fred is going hiking. In the snow. Brrr. I'm SO not ready for winter. It was just 70 degrees on Wednesday. But it IS a great day to try out Grandma Schubert's Maultaschen recipe. It's Schwabish you know. So Fred has Schwabian blood in his veins? That explains many, many things. 1 box frozen spinach thawed.

TheMorsel: August 2009

http://themorsel.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Tuna with Grilled Watermelon. The lazy days of summer are here. I can't get motivated to do much more than the minimal cooking - rather, we've been grabbing bagged salads and adding tomatoes from my garden and sometimes resorting to cold cereal for dinner. In fact this meal was from two weekends ago when I still had some gas in my motor. That's how little I've cooked lately. Yawn Stretch. Sigh. Is it Autumn yet? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). TheMorsel: December 2009

http://themorsel.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 26, 2009. I think today deserves a lighter dish. One box of Angel Food cake mix. One can crushed pineapple (approx 2 cups). Mix together and put in 9 x 13 glass pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. DO NOT GREASE PAN. Don't worry, it won't stick. Serve with LOADS of fresh whipped cream. (I add 1/4 cup powdered sugar to each 1/2 pint of whipping cream, plus 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, Beat on high until stiff.). Wednesday, December 23, 2009. 7 Layer Cookie Bars. The fun part is trying t...

TheMorsel: Fred's Favorite Caramel Corn

http://themorsel.blogspot.com/2012/11/freds-favorite-caramel-corn.html

Tuesday, November 13, 2012. Fred's Favorite Caramel Corn. This caramel corn is SO good. I'm not kidding! Buttery, crispy, without being like hard candy. The BEST I've ever tasted. Be careful with the hot caramel, it will cause terrible burns. Melt-in-your Mouth Caramel Corn (from the Northwest Daily Herald years ago). 1 cup (2 sticks) butter (I use salted). 2 cups light brown sugar, packed. 1/2 cup light corn syrup. 1/2 tsp baking soda. 5 quarts (20 cups) popped corn. Preheat oven to 250. The Sense of an...

http://olpinodyssey.blogspot.com/2010/03/ski-jumpers-in-training.html

It All Starts With A Step. Saturday, March 6, 2010. Ski Jumpers in Training. So the kids and I have skied a couple of times since the last post.  We went again today.  As we were skiing down having some fun, Carter crashed and created a new mound of snow with his butt.  We didn’t think too much about it and kept skiing…  Carter came down the same hill and hit his butt indentation, now a small jump, and crashed again! 160; Tough kid! I was amazed he actually landed it! Was nervous for her! I laughed so ha...

It All Starts With A Step. Tuesday, February 24, 2009. The Expressions of a Penguin. Carter and Lilly were studying penguins at school, so one day they made these little guys. I fell in love at first sight and thought they were the cutest things so I had to share them with you! The first thing I said when they brought them home is that they will break if you try and play with them.did they listen? So here are the remains of our little friends. Saturday, February 21, 2009. It All Starts With A Step. Saturday, May 30, 2009. I have never grown a garden and my green thumb seems to be brown which is why I don't grow things but I bought some veggies and fruit this year and thought I would give it a try. Now granted, the strawberry plant came with tiny green strawberries but I didn't kill it and we had our first red strawberry! I was so excited I had the kids come help me pick it. I brought it inside and compared it with a strawberry from the store. ours is the tiny one. I can't...

It All Starts With A Step: Snowshoeing Vs. The Ski Lift

http://olpinodyssey.blogspot.com/2010/01/hiking-with-lace.html

It All Starts With A Step. Wednesday, January 13, 2010. Snowshoeing Vs. The Ski Lift. Today Lace and I went hiking up to Snowbird and had a great time. We decided to make it more adventurous so we went down a big snow plow hill. It was much more fun than walking to the lodge. Here is Lace right before we threw on the snowshoes. Lace was able to get across in a different place quite easily. It helps that she weighs 50 lbs less than me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Snowshoeing Vs. The Ski Lift.

When they hop in the car they immediately start on what went wrong that day. Who did what, who got a blue tape, so and so called someone names, this person didn't meet me where they said they would.yadda, yadda, yadda! Thanks so much for picking us up! The Morse Mixing Bowl. Jan 20, 2012. Is Your Marriage In A Rut? I was recently asked, "What do you do to keep your marriage from being boring? For Joel and I, we make it a choice not to get into ruts or get bored with each other. The simplest way to do this is to plan a monthly date. I hear you saying, "A date, what's that? Go to a local coffee shop, get something you like, and hold hands while talking. Make some popcorn, sit on the couch together, and watch a movie. ( Fireproof. Is a great movie.).
