Hot Rods, Hot-Dogs, and Ho-Dads. Wednesday, October 13, 2010. Reveres - Big 'T' / Me and My Spider. You know how every once and awhile you find a record (usually a 45) that you can't find ANY information about on the internet? Is it Gary Usher related? Well, here's one like that! I DO know that 'Big ' T' ' was released on the Valiant label and was written by a guy named Bodie Chandler- but then again no information. But whoever the Reveres were - I'd like to say that. They were really good! Bruce and Ter...

http://hotrodsho-dadsandmusic.blogspot.com/2010/10/annette-muscle-beach-party-released.html
Hot Rods, Hot-Dogs, and Ho-Dads. Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Annette - Muscle Beach Party. Released (month unknown) 1963. Annette was THE 'Beach Girl' of the sixties and why not? The kids who once saw her on the Mickey Mouse Show were now the surfers, gremmies, ho-dads, and Honeys of the day. She was very pretty, had hair to rival Sandra Dee and all the boys were crazy over her. Sounds good, eh? There was just hitch - she couldn't sing! Anyways, it worked! 1 Muscle Beach Party -. A great little song!

Hot Rods, Hot-Dogs, and Ho-Dads. Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Lord Douglas Byron(and Continentals)- Big Bad HoDad /Surfin Santa. Releasd unknown month 1964. Again, like the great record by the Reveres, there is no information on this record anywhere! I DID find out that it was a local recording by an unknown guy. Whoever Lord Douglas Byron was (or is) was pretty good though! He sounds like a mix between Bruce Johnston (of the Rip-Chords) and Ron Wilson (of the Surfaris)! SIDE A - Surfin Santa. It tells t...

Hot Rods, Hot-Dogs, and Ho-Dads: January 2011
http://hotrodsho-dadsandmusic.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Hot Rods, Hot-Dogs, and Ho-Dads. Sunday, January 2, 2011. California Suns - Masked Grandma / Little Bit Of Heaven. By the time 1966 rolled around, Surf-Music had pretty much dissapeared with a few exceptions such as the Fantastic Baggys in South Africa (more on that later), and the California Suns. What is even stranger, is that some how this small town group got a hold of Imperial record's attention AND a Carol Connors / Roger Christian composition! SIDE A - Masked Grandma. You get a hit! Well, maybe if...

Hot Rods, Hot-Dogs, and Ho-Dads: October 2010
http://hotrodsho-dadsandmusic.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Hot Rods, Hot-Dogs, and Ho-Dads. Saturday, October 23, 2010. The Go-Gos - Swim with the Go-Go's. Released late, late 1964. Here's a little gem by a group that, at first glance, looks like a little studio band trying to market off the surfing craze - but that's not right. The Go - Gos were actually a real group trying to break out onto the scene. William Wild, Jim Infeild, and Roger Yorke (who are all under 21 appearently - see back of record) formed this little group in high school. Don't do THAT either!
