Parenting to the beat of a different drummer. The Gift of Protest. January 17, 2017. January 18, 2017. This Saturday, January 21st, I will join hundreds of thousands of women marching. All over the country in protest of our soon-to-be president, Donald Trump. Like everyone else, I have my own reasons for marching. I have come to think of January 21st as her. This year, on January 21st, my daughter would be one year old. My daughter who died. Birth her and watch her die. We chose the medical procedure.

http://theroadlesstravelledlb.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Odds and ends and recent reading. Dh and I went to the mall today to get out of the house (we are heading for the title of "Coldest February on Record"! I briefly stopped to watch and listen as I was making my rounds - but had to beat a hasty retreat when I realized the choir was singing Billy Joel's "Lullaby (Goodnight My Angel)" - a song I wrote about here. I had a true "WTF? 8221; I mean, seriously? I watched the Oscars (as usual) on Sunday night - but it didn't hit me unti...

Parenting to the beat of a different drummer. Through the Door and Down the Hall. March 7, 2017. I’m not really sure when the thoughts began, or the headache either, for that matter. All I know is that by January 3rd, 2017 I had an appointment with my primary care doctor, because I was convinced that the headache, which had been lingering for a few days, was symptomatic of a brain tumor. I just. It, and I had already been revolving the idea in my brain for days. Do you see what I did? That, my friends, i...

I didn’t even ask what kind of apples when a friend invited me and the family to go apple picking at her place (she has a few large apple trees right at the entrance of her driveway). We mad...I also ...
