Leucanthemum (Shasta Daisies) - The Obsessed Gardener

http://theobsessedgardener.weebly.com/leucanthemum.html

Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella. I love daisies, but have to say, whoever came up with the phrase, "fresh as a daisy" never sat between two plantings of them. There is nothing fresh smelling about them. Hardy in zones 4-9. Create a free website. Create your own free website. Start your own free website. A surprisingly easy drag and drop site creator. Hosta - The Obsessed Gardener

http://theobsessedgardener.weebly.com/hosta.html

Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella. Are great shade plants, though some can take, or even do better in more sun. They prefer moist, well drained soil, rich in organic matter, but once established, many can take drier conditions. It is best to not plant them too deeply and keep mulch away from the plant to help prevent crown rot. Are easily propagated by division and those who say they need to be divided often say so because they want a start. There is beauty in a large, established clump of. Hardy in zon...

Crocus - The Obsessed Gardener

http://theobsessedgardener.weebly.com/crocus.html

Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella. Require full to partial sun. They readily naturalize and are easily propagated by division. Corms should be planted about three inches deep. Common names include Golden Crocus, Snow Crocus. Hardy in zones 4-11. These came from my Grandma's garden and they readily naturalize. They are not the most attractive. As they look rather faded much of the time. Since they don't get in the way of other plantings, they will stay. Common names include Autumn Crocus, Fall Crocus.

Clematis - The Obsessed Gardener

http://theobsessedgardener.weebly.com/clematis.html

Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella. Are vines that require full to partial sun. While the tops need more sun, the roots need cool shade, so lots of mulch is a good idea. They should be planted a bit deeper than the root ball to encourage roots to grow up the stem. Wet feet will kill them, so make sure the soil is well drained. For best results, fertilize regularly, as they are heavy feeders. Are easily propagated by layering. There are some fungal issues that are spread through spores entering injuries i...

5

Ferns - The Obsessed Gardener

http://theobsessedgardener.weebly.com/ferns.html

Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella. Ferns are moisture loving plants that require full to partial shade. They perform best in soil that is rich in organic matter and do not require fertilizing. Ferns are easily propagated by division. Common names include American Maidenhair, Five-Fingered Maidenhair, Five-Finger Fern, Northern Maidenhair Fern. Hardy in zones 3-8. Common name Lady Fern. Hardy in zones 4-9. Athyrium filix-femina var. angustum. Lsquo;Lady In Red’. Common name Red Lady Fern.

Garden Rambles: Plant Sale

http://theobsessedgardener.blogspot.com/2014/06/plant-sale.html

Random thoughts from the garden. Monday, June 9, 2014. Technically to sell plants, you have to be certified by the USDA. Unless you’re going to sell online or start a nursery, etc., you should not have any issues. That said, inspect your plants for pests, disease, fungus, etc. If in doubt, throw it out. Not only do they risk your reputation, you spread potentially large problems. First off, anything that says “PP” or “PPAF” is a patented plant, so propagation is prohibited and sel...Plants usually transp...

Garden Rambles

Random thoughts from the garden. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. I always try to learn from mistakes, and as I tell my son, the best mistakes to learn from are someone else's. I was on a job a couple of days ago that reminded me of a few biggies. Instead of trying to grow healthy plants, grow healthy soil. Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Slug and Snail Killer. Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella. I currently have a blog,. Which is just that, random thoughts from the garden, as well as a facebook profile,. However, I also want something more organized. I have so many plants and want a place to better categorize and display my collections. Just as the garden constantly changes, so will this site, so be sure to check back often. Though I am going to keep this site limited to things I currently have in my zone 5 garden, through the years I have grown. Why I Do This.

The Obsessed Mess

Saturday, December 14, 2013. I heard you in the hall just now. Laughing. She made a flirty comment. a little too loudly. I heard every word. You started shushing her. You were right in front of my door. did you really think that I couldn't hear her? I laughed because I finally realized just how little you truly mean to me. Just how pathetic you truly are. Sure we're "friends" and all that crap, but I realized that the hold you had over me was nothing more than a schoolgirl crush. Tuesday, December 3, 2013.
