Recycling is not optional! Monday, May 15, 2006. If you would like to tackle recycling in your area, you will need to consider:. What resources are being discarded locally that could be put to more productive use. Plastic shopping bags can be used as little trashbags or doggie poopy bags. What projects already exist to collect waste materials, and which could help local communities. Recycle centers should be advertised more, i don't know where any are.
