elyse in the world: October 2009
http://elyseintheworld.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Elyse in the world. So, I'm up waaay past my bed time tonight. It happens. The reason though, is that I'm baking cookies for the seniors at school! Tonight was also really fun because our house was invited over to the Mozley's for dinner! But Elyse," you wonder, "what's going on with the title of your blog? Every time a plane flew overhead I was desperate to be on it. I was desperate to learn this crazy culture and feel like I understood it well enough to get around on my own. I was desperate to get home.

The Thinkings of Things. Connecting the eternal to the everyday. January 1, 2017. January 1, 2017. Gender, Fighting, and (Friendly) Fights about Gender and Fighting. When I was young and single, and motherhood was simply a far-off state to be dreamt about, my romantic imaginings about it always involved a lot of grubby-faced, skinned-kneed boys. This wasn’t so much. My own upbringing, growing up as one of two girls and attending a private girls’ school, as it was. Several years ago, my oldest daughter’s ...

Our Little Family: Pa CHA CHA
http://chattingwiththemartins.blogspot.com/2014/09/pa-cha-cha.html
Memories in the making! Monday, September 1, 2014. Being a mom is fun. You get to play games and keep your kid guessing. So the other night I was trying to convince Drew to do something quickly and said if I beat him I would have to Pa Cha Cha him. Before I even had time to think about what I as saying he asked me what that was. Thinking quickly I came up with the move from the end of The Karate Kid movie. I attempted it (terribly), Drew tried it (cutely) and Tim did it (but hurt himself).
