Sunday, March 9, 2014. Last Day in Portugal. I finally took some photos of the hostel we were staying at. It's so well-designed! The view from outside of our hostel. After we checked out of the hostel, we went out for one last walk around the city. This father and son duo were so endearing. A couple started dancing on the street, so the boy walked over and serenaded them. We followed the path of the 28 tram line to find the view we caught a glimpse of on our way to the Thieves' Market a few days ago.

Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Today we went on the Sandeman tour for Madrid. It was mostly an informational (not so much a scenic) tour, but it reminded me a lot of what I learned back in AP European History. Sunday, March 9, 2014. Cascais - Day 4 in Portugal. Cascais is a seaside city by Lisbon. It's coated with beaches and beautiful cliffs. The whole time I was in Cascais, I hummed. The Seaside by the Kooks. This guy, Kabecao Rodrigues, was playing the handpan (an instrument invented in Switzerland). His soothing music surrounded the street. You can hear a sample here. This reminded me of the harbor by North End, Boston. A glimpse of the Santa Marta Lighthouse Museum. Inside the Santa Marta Lighthouse Museum.

Sunday, March 9, 2014. Segovia (Madrid, Day 4). Today we took a day trip out to Segovia, a town near Madrid. We were told Segovia is famous for three things:. A really big cathedral. Spoiler alert: we saw all three things. *gasp*]. There was a bus that took us over to Segovia which I fell asleep for most of naturally. Segovia pictures start here:. Teresa's quite the entrepreneur. We also found the most amazing restaurant ever for lunch. It was definitely my favorite meal in Spain! Jon's so happy haha.

Wednesday, December 25, 2013. First thing´s first:. In honor of my being in Madrid right now.). I forgot to post. For a very very long time. So here comes the longest summary ever. Michaelmas term ended December 6th, and after that I went straight to Tignes, France, for the Oxbridge Varsity Skiing Trip! I will post about each city destination in separate posts for organization´s sake. 1 Classes and such. I resolve to fix these horrible habits. I did enjoy the classes though!
