Characters in my Cranium: What doesn't kill you ...
http://charactersinmycranium.blogspot.com/2012/08/what-doesnt-kill-you-make-you-stronger.html
Characters in my Cranium. Young authors, and the characters that control them. Wednesday, August 8, 2012. What doesn't kill you . I have become rather notorious amongst friends and family for being heartless and cruel to my characters. I give them a dream only to shatter it later. I let them feel love only to have the loved one taken away. I let them watch the foundations of their world crumble as I sit by drinking chocolate milk in my pajamas. That is what makes a strong story. Posted by Danielle Coiro.

Characters in my Cranium: March 2012

Characters in my Cranium. Young authors, and the characters that control them. Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Practice scene: "This person, Ceol". I was tempted to ask how long it would be until we reached the manor, but to do so would suggest I was impatient, or nervous, and I didn’t want the driver to have anything to tell his companions. I could tell from the movement of his head that he had already been glancing at me from the interior rear view mirror. He looked back to the road, and I looked back out the...

Characters in my Cranium: April 2012
http://charactersinmycranium.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Characters in my Cranium. Young authors, and the characters that control them. Tuesday, April 10, 2012. To miserable sandy regions I go. The outline for my graphic novel is complete. I'm still fleshing it out a little, but it's usable. Now I'm going through all of my notebooks to make sure that everything I wanted to add to the plot has been added. Have I mentioned how much I hate outlining? Anyway, on to the new goal, worldbulding! I also have a character to play around with, Vanisa Sorian.

Characters in my Cranium: August 2012

Characters in my Cranium. Young authors, and the characters that control them. Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Book clip - Surric, prologue. Surric is a very emotional book for me, that I've been working on for almost five years now. It is, to date, the only book I have that focuses mainly on a romantic relationship between two characters. By the way, if anyone tells you that writing good science fiction is easy, hit them over the head with a cheap Star Wars ripoff. Sci-fi is hard. But I love it anyways. Smoke...

Characters in my Cranium: June 2012

Characters in my Cranium. Young authors, and the characters that control them. Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Setting, part 1: Character reflection. Let's talk about setting, guys! Setting can reveal a lot about a character. If you put them in a setting that suits them and reflects their personality, it can shed a lot of light on who a character is without forcing information on the reader. You can use this tactic to drop little tid-bits about a character here and there. There was nothing there. Blank as a ...

Characters in my Cranium: A little every day
http://charactersinmycranium.blogspot.com/p/little-every-day.html
Characters in my Cranium. Young authors, and the characters that control them. A little every day. As to not let myself grow rusty, I'm making this tab to encourage myself to write a little every day. It's like working out. Need to try new things, keep the writing muscles moving. This is going to be very raw and unpolished, with little to no editing. I kept my head bowed low, but I watched her as she passed me. The man kneeling next to me stared at the ground with wide eyes. I could hardly believ...Not a...

Something Solid Out of Air. Every novel is an attempt to capture time, to weave something solid out of air. The author knows it is an impossible task- that is why he keeps on trying." David Beaty. Characters in my Cranium: Adding a new twist to things
http://charactersinmycranium.blogspot.com/2012/07/adding-new-twist-to-things.html
Characters in my Cranium. Young authors, and the characters that control them. Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Adding a new twist to things. There is nothing new under the sun. This saying used to be really discouraging to me. What's the point of telling a story if it's already been told? 1: That thing about vampires being pale? Yeah That actually defeats the whole point. How villagers used to see if a person was a vampire was to dig up their grave and take a good look at them. First sign, they wouldn'...If yo...
