The Pasture Times: January 2013

http://thepasturetimes.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

A blog about a love of London, crafts, cooking and tea. Friday, 18 January 2013. A Winter Tarte Tatin. This morning I woke up and there was snow everywhere! After calling my boss and deciding it was too dangerous to drive I had to decide what to do with my day, and of course baking came to mind. I thought about baking this at christmas, but ran out of time and as it is lovely and snowy I wanted to bake my winter tarte tatin. Yum! 200g of plain flour. 1/4 teaspoon of salt. A pinch of sugar. Melt the butte...

A blog about a love of London, crafts, cooking and tea. Sunday, 25 August 2013. Anyway, here it is. Tuesday, 6 August 2013. 2 years of blogging. I know I havn't been blogging much lately, which is really bad of me! I can't even use the excuse that I have been working hard because I am in the middle of an 8 week school holiday (lucky, lucky me! I made a raggy quilt which I have never done, and actually didn't like the look of them. But, after making one I am in love with them and wish I had one!

The Pasture Times: February 2013

http://thepasturetimes.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html

A blog about a love of London, crafts, cooking and tea. Saturday, 16 February 2013. It's been a while. So I have been really bad at keeping up with this blog since working 5 days a week. Yet this week I had half term, so I spent half of it entertaining my family and the other half trying to relax and the best way to do this is by doing a spot of embroidery. So here are my pictures of what I got up to this week. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Law Student's Journey. Gladstone Coaching and Development.

A blog about a love of London, crafts, cooking and tea. Saturday, 1 June 2013. Yet another Winnie the Pooh embroidery. I know that I have made three already, but I love doing them. My next one shall be a big picture, so for now here is my latest. This is pretty much the story of my life, I am endlessly getting lost, but I just keep on driving anyway. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Normal for Norfolk..........: The problem initiated with a visit to a National Trust property last year and concluded with the death of a food processor!

http://theoldbakery.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-problem-initiated-with-visit-to.html

Sunday, 2 November 2014. The problem initiated with a visit to a National Trust property last year and concluded with the death of a food processor! Our food processor broke down this week. It hadn't been very happy for several weeks and I knew something was afoot as it whinged and moaned more and more through the month, but I never thought that it would actually down tools! By late September the unbelievably prolonged warm summer had filled the pumpkin patch with all. Sizes of bright orange balloons.

Friday, 8 August 2014. If you are planning for a year, sow rice if you are planning for a decade, plant trees if you are planning for a lifetime, plant bloody Broad Beans! I was asked the other day if I regretted taking on the allotment. I guess the inference being that it was just too big a task with everything else that we are striving to achieve here. I was surprised at the speed and vigor of the involuntary answer that I immediately fired back at him. "No, not at all, absolutely not.". Time passed, t...

Normal for Norfolk..........: The year in numbers - again!

http://theoldbakery.blogspot.com/2014/12/the-year-in-numbers-again.html

Wednesday, 31 December 2014. The year in numbers - again! What a year; we've collapsed in a proverbial heap after a manic end to the year. 90 evening meals in just over 6 weeks of the Thursford season. Chicken in a honey and cider sauce and rhubarb crumble being the most popular choices - around 35 of each. We end the year with 24 Thursford nights already booked (compare that to 2012 when we did 26 nights) and a total of 72 B&B nights and over 6 weeks of holiday cottage bookings already lined up for 2015.

Normal for Norfolk..........: The God, the Bad & the devil's advocate

http://theoldbakery.blogspot.com/2014/11/the-god-bad-devils-advocate.html

Friday, 14 November 2014. The God, the Bad and the devil's advocate. Hoodies are very useful whilst vacuum cleaning. The hoody is a much maligned garment with an unfairly tarnished reputation and despite my knowing and indeed my championing of them I still feel out of place wearing one in Holt. At Christmas, this Wednesday actually. They range from the best homemade cakes of the 'Horatio Mugs' cafe to the quirky 'Folly Tea rooms'. I think it was the latter Michael that the two lady Jehovah's Witnesses.

Monday, 28 April 2014. Freshly baked bread made the traditional way is back once more in The Old Bakery and though we say so ourselves it tastes damn good! With so much to do each day I have been reluctant to make bread as well. However that doesn't mean that I didn't want to make it regularly at some point in the future. Well that time has arrived and I am now producing all of our own bread needs from scratch in our ovens. In Cley there is a small family run Smokery called Cley Smokehouse. But it does a...

Sunday, 30 March 2014. I could smell their doubt and a bit of urine too actually which I fear came from the tree. It's not good enough, simply appalling! Over a month has passed since I bothered to put pen to paper, no. errrr, digits to key pad and I feel I've let You down and that I've let Alison down and indeed that I've let my family down. But most of all. I know. I've let Myself down :(. Anyhooo, I'm back now and raring to go. So what's been happening in the very merry month of. March then? Probably ...

Friday, 27 June 2014. Being effective at social media, whether for business or personal use, means capturing people who have short attention spans. They're only a click away from a picture of a funny cat, so you have to make your thing more compelling than that cat. And that can be a high bar. Alexis Ohanian. Having just reduced my time with the NHS to 4 long days a week, I now have Fridays to devote to the administration and marketing of our various enterprises. I've drawn up a spreadsheet to make s...

Thursday, October 11, 2007. Why Bother to Save Halloween? Written by Richard Seltzer. Halloween is in trouble. Each year editorials in magazines, newspapers and on television warn of the dangers of trick-or-treating. Almost everywhere you look, cities set 'trick-or-treating hours' only during the early afternoon in broad daylight and each year more communities want to 'ban' Halloween. What is Halloween anyway? So what's so important about Halloween? In other words, the true value and importance of Hallow...
