The Navis Family: September 2013
http://thenavisfamily.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 29, 2013. 3's Preschool and Young 5's. This fall Sebastien and Eden are starting Young 5's. I can't tell you how much we (ok, I) debated about whether to send them to Kindergarten or do a year of Young 5's. But now we have started the year and so far it is going very well. Here are some pictures from their first day of school. Violet was not starting school this day, but she wanted to "practice.". And when I went to pick her up, she came out looking like this:. Sunday, September 1, 2013.

The Navis Family: Moving....
http://thenavisfamily.blogspot.com/2013/07/moving.html
Sunday, July 7, 2013. This place where our family went from two people to five. This house that we bought just in time to move in and settle before the twins came. This home where I sat for the second half of bed rest and watched Adam unpack boxes paint walls, and assemble furniture. all the while happily accepting his offers to run for the Culver's milkshakes that I craved. What wonderful memories. Memories that will never be forgotten! July 9, 2013 at 2:37 AM. July 17, 2013 at 12:45 AM. EASY" - Eat, Ac...

Seaching for God by any means necessary. Posted on March 22, 2013. There are some books you love the first time you read them, but should never be re-read because they are sweeter in memory than in reality. You grow and change so much as a person that revisiting them is like a return trip to your high school: everything is how you remember it, except you. This was my concern about re-reading. By David James Duncan. The River Why has. I have no interest in fishing, but I am an introvert who likes to run.

Seaching for God by any means necessary. Posted on June 29, 2013. As part of my ongoing studies, I have been spending a lot of time reading about the power of stories. Robert McAfee Brown. Reflecting on the tale of David and Nathan in 2 Samuel 12. 8220;The power of a story is a power over which we do not have ultimate control, since it can catch us off guard, tell us things about ourselves we would prefer not to know, and liberate us to move in directions we would never have imagined. I am the best of me. I am the worst of me. I am not me. | The Modern Monk

Seaching for God by any means necessary. I am the best of me. I am the worst of me. I am not me. Posted on March 26, 2013. I am the best of me. I am the worst of me. I am not me. Some days, everything falls into place and I cannot be stopped. I am creative, brimming with potential, full of good cheer. I am original. I control myself to meet my goals. No sooner do I dream than I accomplish. I feel good about myself and my place in the world. I am patient and kind. Which of these people am I? The possibili...

The Navis Family: July 2013
http://thenavisfamily.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 31, 2013. And now they're five. Sebastien and Eden turned 5 a few weeks ago. We did their annual birthday interviews and I was blown away when I compared it to last year. They both have truly grown up so much. We had their first "friend" birthday party this year, and we invited their friends from church and their preschool class. It was a lot of fun. She introduces herself: "Excuse me, my name is Eden. What is your name? I'm Eden and I'm 4 1/2, how old are you? Sunday, July 7, 2013. This ...

The Navis Family: "EASY" - Eat, Activity, Sleep, 'You Time'
http://thenavisfamily.blogspot.com/2008/08/easy-eat-activity-sleep-you-time.html
Sunday, August 24, 2008. EASY" - Eat, Activity, Sleep, 'You Time'. This is the basic premise of "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer" - which, despite its silly title, is actually a pretty great book about caring for infants. So, this is the routine we're trying to establish. Eden and Sebastien eat. (This is quite an event in and of itself.) We don't have any pictures of this, because that would be inappropriate. Please note that I am not suggesting that it always goes exactly like this - rather, this is one e...

The Navis Family: December 2012
http://thenavisfamily.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 27, 2012. One Sunday night, she started crying from her crib and when I went in, she handed me her paci - which she would never willingly do at bedtime - and I knew. "You throw it in the garbage? She wailed. "I sleep with a broken paci," she changed her mind again and again about whether this broken, malfunctioning paci should be in bed with her or in the garbage. Finally, I threw it away. When we broke the twins' pacis. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). These are my 4 year olds. We had a wo...
