The Pharoah's Chin: The end is scarily close

http://www.thepharoahschin.blogspot.com/2009/04/weekend-passed-ever-so-quickly.html

A Design Diary, based upon my final year as a BA (hons)Garden Designer at the University of Greenwich. The Pharoah's chin named after my first presentation. Where I dressed up as a Phoroah for my Egyptian project. The Chin was made from cardboard and had some resemblance to the male sexual organ. A great opening to the year. Monday, 27 April 2009. The end is scarily close. There is not that long left in the course now, and I am feeling really nervous about how it’s all going to turn out.

My design diary: January 2009

http://myspecialdesigndiary.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 27 January 2009. Just a little recap. Thought it might be time to show off some of my work and stand back and reflect on the whole masterplan. So here goes in text and images, a documentation of my design process. It first started with the three sketch designs before Christmas. This is my ecological option, which was based on a concept of ordered nature with the aim of showcasing native wildflowers, which are often underrated and associated with 'untidy' designs. Was to rushed and although.

My design diary: October 2008

http://myspecialdesigndiary.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Monday, 20 October 2008. Sunny Sunday Afternoon in Calverly Park. Here's some of my first site photos,. Showing the people, trees and landform which help make the place! This is who we will be designing for. It is a big challange because the people allready look so. Comfortable and happy in the palce. What is good must not be spoiled. The little, slightly run down cafe attract many. People, but there is room for improvement! The beutifully curving landform looks stunning as the sun. Almost One Year later!

My design diary: December 2008

http://myspecialdesigndiary.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Friday, 19 December 2008. Tuesday, 9 December 2008. So, after an intensive week of working on the three designs, we have had to narrow it down to one. I was very dissapointed that we were not allowed to present the three options and get guidance on which one to go for, but there we are. I think I have chosen the option with the best scope for development and exploration for the months ahead. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

My design diary: November 2008

http://myspecialdesigndiary.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, 30 November 2008. So the survey part of the project is over. Now it's all go on the designs. It is going to be hughe challenge to produce the three designs for Monday the 8th December, but I will just have to give it my best shot. I have got my plan for how to attack it ready. Only trouble is, things usually take a lot longer than planned. So we're doing ecological, connective and focused. To me this roughly translates into native, community and arts. Wednesday, 19 November 2008. Last Friday I ma...

Thursday, 26 February 2009. As we are moving into more detail I have come accross some problems with regards to planting. One to do with hedges, which i think I might have resolved. The other to do with prunus serrual positining in relation to seating. I am still not clear about how to solve this. I wish Kemal was arround to ask for advice. Bedtime now, it's been another long day! Wednesday, 18 February 2009. I have found it quite challenging to be able to get on with my studies, to say the least, I just...

The Pharos Blog | enlightened family history articles and discussion brought to you from Pharos Tutors

Enlightened family history articles and discussion brought to you from Pharos Tutors. When is DNA not important to family history? This post is by Wayne Shepheard. So, are studies of family history or genealogy the same thing? Such changes in names can confound and confuse those researching the history of their family. And any study of a family should also include research into any individuals who may have joined the family through other than direct, biological means. Wayne is a past student of Pharos, h...
