A place where you can read stuff I write. September 13, 2010. Open up that Golden Gate, California here I come. Posted by Stephanie under Life. Is something I’ve been lucky enough to do once, if not twice a year for most of my life. Ok maybe not eevverrryy year, but really close to it. I’ve got loads of family there! Once principle way that I would show my excitement around the house would be through song. Yes, loud obnoxious songs. Ever watch Bobby’s World as a kid? Well I do. [love ya bro, wink! Paul a...

A place where you can read stuff I write. October 19, 2009. Posted by Stephanie under Life. Ohhh festivals. There’s nothing better than fall festivals, and Houston is FULL of them. Apparently, the Greek festival is the cats pajamas, but I wasn’t around that weekend to attend. Instead, my friend Kristen and I spent this weekend at two very different, but equally as fun fall festivals. On Saturday I attended the Houston Italian Festival. Hahaha. Bon Jovi. Wink) I purchased an armchair for my room. On my wa...

A place where you can read stuff I write. December 29, 2009. Hey, let’s move all my stuff…again…. Posted by Stephanie under Life. I stayed in the car and let Paul run inside and get it. Paul gets the pizza and gets back into the car, and is laughing while he closes the door. S What are you laughing about? Paul spent the next week in Houston, which was a treat and we had a great time. Hope everyone’s holiday is going well! Check back to hear all about my crazy Christmas. December 11, 2009. Musings of a wide-eyed lady celebrating life's wonders. Monday, January 11, 2010. The Christmas Conundrum of the Missing Smarts. Home in Indiana. Steamy, non? I think I had just dumped the boiling potato water into the sink. This marked approximately the half-way point in our Christmas Tour Extraordinaire: 2009. All I have to say is.whew! Let me tell you, this never gets any easier. As per usual, the weather (this time in TEXAS- what? I'll even clean it! Do I still have my smarts? Back at the table:.

Eighteen Lovely Ladies: I knew I was me before I knew I was me

http://eighteenlovelyladies.blogspot.com/2009/10/i-knew-i-was-me-before-i-knew-i-was-me.html

Musings of a wide-eyed lady celebrating life's wonders. Monday, October 26, 2009. I knew I was me before I knew I was me. Who's that lady in the picture? By Michael Austin, and I stumbled across and bought a print in my last years of high school. It hung on my wall because she compelled me; I thought she was beautiful in an enigmatic kind of way, and she hovered over me, a part of my room. Then I left home and. Rather than making or manufacturing onself. And notice the implications of the word. Lover of ...

Musings of a wide-eyed lady celebrating life's wonders. Friday, January 15, 2010. Another reason I'm fond of bananas: we used to call my sister Danielle "Nanner." I'm sure she loved that. Here's a recipe for healthy banana pancakes, which I love on the weekend. They make my belly happy. 18 Lovely Ladies' Banana Pancakes. 1 cup white whole wheat flour. 2 tsp baking powder. 1 egg, beaten. 1 cup buttermilk (1 cup soymilk 1 tbsp cider vinegar, left to stand 10 min.). 2 extra ripe bananas, mashed. Musings of a wide-eyed lady celebrating life's wonders. Tuesday, September 1, 2009. I've already converted several victims to the dark side (aka my side). If you haven't watched an episode of True Blood yet, it is totally worth Netflixing and marathoning. I've seen the first season three times now in my efforts to turn people. But, if it's not your thing, give the opening credits a quick study:. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? I WANT ICE CREAM! You want ice cream? Red-eyed and silent. I've made him cry.

Eighteen Lovely Ladies: Blues

http://eighteenlovelyladies.blogspot.com/2010/02/blues.html

Musings of a wide-eyed lady celebrating life's wonders. Thursday, February 4, 2010. I had been feeling a little blue and glum, thanks in large part to the appallingly depressing winter here in Northern California. Gray every day, even when it's not actually raining. And not a thunderstorm in sight (I never thought I would miss Indiana weather! Just being in their presence helps me to check in and reground. What a world of difference a cup of coffee and some smart ladies can make for your self esteem.

Kylie, The dolphin that speaks porpoise

Kylie, The Dolphin That Speaks Porpoise. I consider myself lucky. My partner and I live with our windows looking onto the Firth of Clyde. In 2009, a kayaking neighbour told us about a solitary dolphin, living practically right outside our window. We bought binoculars, we graduated to a telescope, the dolphin was all over YouTube. David Nairn certainly thinks so. If solitary dolphins are rare, female solitary dolphins are rarer, and dolphins that socially interact with porpoises, virtually unheard of.
