November 13, 2009 at 4:28 am ( Uncategorized. My current favorite song is Ara Batur by Sigur Ros. Listen to it here. (no need to watch the video, just listen). It’s in Icelandic but here is the English translation of the lyrics:. Yes, a thousand times. But you it was who let everything. And you it was who once again. I parted, you parted. But it was you who was always. It was you who never judged. I parted, you parted. You sail on rivers. With an old oar. You swim to shore. Pushed the waves away.

Wednesday, May 31, 2006. Today we learned the grip and the full swing in golf. We lined up in rows across from eachother and hit whiffle balls back and forth. It was hilarious, because you had people getting hit by raining whiffle balls while trying to hit them back! After class I worked out and then mailed off my scholarship at FedEx. This afternoon I tried to play basketball with Jonathan, but after working out my arms were pretty shot. I couldn't get anything to fall! First Day of Class. 3) I'm not a ...

A talk on indolence. Newer posts →. July 1, 2009. I’ve been told that I need to start writing more. I don’t know if that will happen, but this is my attempt to start. I was wondering what I could write about that would be interesting to people, and I figured that I could share about the little everyday things. Things that are probably weird and shocking, but by now have become daily life for me. Please ask if you would like to hear about any specific thing! June 25, 2009. June 24, 2009. Boulder. Need...

Friday, June 30, 2006. It's been a while. This week has also been about reconnecting with people I miss a lot. Reb came in through town to visit me on her break from Oxford. We went to Panera and caught up as much as we could fit six months into a lunch break. I also got to chat for a good while with Jon and Sarah, I met them at the (24 hour! We have a candidate coming in to be looked at for the college minister position, so lots of prayer needed there. 3) I've been Mariokart free for 9 days! Plagued by ...

Thursday, August 13, 2009. Today I had my first day of teacher in-service in preparation for the new school year. Now, I know - some of you were snoring by the time I got to serv-, but today was a Flippen Group (that's right Flip Flippen is his name) Capturing Kid's Hearts workshop that was actually kind of interesting. If you get the chance, read this blog. Of Michael Criner college minister at First Woodway on "The Wisdom of Mentors". Connectedness to an adult. My brother, Tim Mason, writes in his blog.

The Road Less Traveled. Musings and News in the Life of JK. November 21, 2009. Some Thoughts on Relationships and Marriage. Posted by jkwakefield under relationships. I honestly don’t really know what’s happened in the past three to four months, but I suppose it doesn’t matter. What I do know now is that,. Worry cannot lead to anything good,. Love must not try to change or control anyone,. Continual reassurance is needed,. Love doesn’t look for what the other person can or can’t offer me,. People today t...

A talk on indolence. July 14, 2009. It’s funny how you can be half way across the world and still think that you can live each day on your own. Recently I’ve been bothered by my utter negligence of the scripture. How can I hold God’s word as a treasure in my heart, but seldom open it to read and meditate? My soul clings to the dust;. Give me life according to your word! When I told of my ways, you answered me;. Teach me your statutes! Make me understand the way of your precepts,. I set your rules before ...

A talk on indolence. Break this tired old Routine. Stirring words Somehow…. July 6, 2010. The following is an excerpt from. 8220;Why are they crying? Why are they crying? 8221; Mitya asks, flying past them at a great clip. 8220;But why is it crying? 8221; Mitya insists, as if he were foolish, “why are its little arms bare, why don’t they wrap it up? 8220;The wee one’s cold, its clothes are frozen, they don’t keep it warm.”. 8220;But why is it so? 8221; foolish Mitya would not leave off. I don’t kno...
