The Professor and Mary Ann. Friday, June 27, 2014. Some Dead Life, and Some Live. Joss and I took Eli to the newly-reopened Bean Museum on campus. This is the one that our friend Ethan O. calls "The Museum of Dead Life". It is, mostly. Here the boys are playing Ugly Grizzly Bear and as you can see, here they are "shaking their head in anger at the crowd around the cage.". Here Joss was happy to be wrong that they did not have an elephant. They did indeed. Don't get me started on the rest of their remodel.

We went to the Ritter Sport museum (because we are never going to be able to see the artwork while the kids want to make custom chocolate bars). For being a small museum, they had a great collection of contemporary works. This one may have been called "Big in Japan" after the song. I knew Will would like it for that reason. When refurbishing it, no one could believe it was originally all white, and so they baroqued it all up. Called the Kollegienkirche. This is the Salzburger Dom, or cathedral. Hence the drop in quality of the photos. After Mauthausen we drove to Hallstatt, one of the prettiest places in Austria. KIM DUKE found somewhere I like. Actually I LOVE it. It's called "Cinema Ballroom". The building used to be an old movie theater, and has been turned into a Ballroom and Salsa dance hall.
