The Writer's Bloc: January 2002
http://chrisyaz.blogspot.com/2002_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 30, 2002. This brief rant matters because. I flubbed out with NaNoWriMo. People have odd ways to reach their zone. I flipped through a book by Steve Martin while at Barnes and Noble today. I found a quotation that I liked, but it made me reconsider the name of this weblog. It went a little sumthin like-a dis: "Writer's block is a fancy term made up by whiners so they can have an excuse to drink alcohol." Steve Martin is a very smart man. But perhaps the oddest. The Writer's Bloc: April 2001
http://chrisyaz.blogspot.com/2001_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 23, 2001. I received an e-mail today from a girl I used to date. It wasn't a warm note, and neither was it a harsh appraisal of my character (though she's gladly offered a heap of those). Instead, I was among the lucky two dozen recipients of an innovative personal deconstruction. If I was wondering about her take on roller coasters ("Scary or Exciting? Or thunderstorms ("scary or cool? The information had been presented to me in a convenient questionnaire. How chic. Tuesday, April 10, 2001.

Tuesday, March 26, 2002. Have lost. Seems that several million people who watched the show weren't immoral. Hooray for this! Went to court this morning. Having saved nearly $40 in tickets, I made way to Tunes, where I bought three CDs to make up the difference. I deserved them. One: White Stripes. Two: De La Soul. Three: A Tribe Called Quest. People in courtrooms are odd. I'd write more about it, but I have to catch a train and get to work. Tonight at 10:30: The Osbournes. What a gone guy! Removed it fro...

Wednesday, May 29, 2002. As promised, this blog has slowed. I am Elsewhere, but I haven't forgotten those of you who check in here now and then. Last weekend, I went to the wedding of an old neighbor. Inherent in my enjoyment of the afternoon and evening was Tara. Those photos, if they're viewable from your seat, are just a few relaxed shots. There are more, but none of them show the depth of intelligence and warmth she possesses. She is something. I have to use the restroom. Monday, May 27, 2002. But to...

The Writer's Bloc: March 2001
http://chrisyaz.blogspot.com/2001_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 20, 2001. The Writer's Bloc is brought to you today by snooty writers. They tend to err on the side of infallibility, stretching relatively basic premises into long and winding routes sprinkled with unnecessary words and clauses. (Like that.) Jim Romanesko at MediaNews does a fine job of finding these rather jackoffian pundits, and today he directed me to an article about a self-obsessed writer for the New Yorker. The writer, Adam Gopnik (it even sounds snobbish, doesn't it? In The Onion&#...

I think it's time to head into the city and do some Christmas shopping. That's right. This qualifies as my first attempt this year. What a guy. If you haven't received a card from me, you should feel priveleged - I neglect only my closest of friends. Not having addresses makes it a bit difficult. Body and Clyde 4. He's the Man, 24-7. Tuesday, February 27, 2001. Rony Seikaly played in the NBA for 11 seasons. Very few people care. His wife, however, is badda-bing. Elsa Benitez poses much like a supple-breasted lioness in this week's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. What a life, eh? To be married to such a hottie. Not so fast, Seikaly says. In his eloquently worded piece. About life as a vixen's husband, Seikaly explains the clashing emotional momentum of admiration and jealousy. Take a listen:. Posted by Christopher at 7:16 PM. My sl...
