Monday, November 30, 2009. Themed PPV's from the Past and Present. In 1989, World Championship Wrestling (WCW) ran an Iron Man tournament at its annual Starrcade show. The show featured both a tag team tournament as well as a singles tournament with competitors battling in round robin matches to determine the "Iron Man" (and "Iron Men"). For more on the rules of the "Iron Man" tournament, click here. Wrestling Olympics: I like the idea of the WWE's Bragging Rights PPV where RAW SmackDown! As time unfolds...

http://wrestlingsgreatestmoments.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 28, 2009. It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. The two month buildup proved to be disastrous with the fans turning on babyface Garvin and rooting for Flair. There was little buildup for the rematch and by the time Starcade rolled around, the fans just wanted to see Garvin disappear. Last year however, the WWE came up with the terrific idea of featuring not one but two Elimination Chamber Matches. Each match featured six competitors from RAW and SmackDown! http://wrestlingsgreatestmoments.blogspot.com/2009/11/remembering-captain-lou-albano.html
Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Remembering Captain Lou Albano. Whether he was helping one of his charges cheat their way to victory, winning the U.S. Tag Team Championship, making beautiful music with NRBQ (and music videos with Cyndi Lauper), or starring in Brian DePalma's Wise Guys, Lou Albano knew how to keep himself busy and in the spotlight. He was bigger than life, literally and metaphorically, making an impact wherever he stepped. Lou Albano was no cartoon character bad guy (although he would go on ...

Monday, July 20, 2009. Great Moments in Wrestling: Jake Roberts DDT's Ricky Steamboat. Beloved by fans, Steamboat was the kind of wrestler who suffered beat down after beatdown by vicious heels, igniting the fans' desire to see him gain his revenge and in the process, making a lot of money for promoters. Saturday, February 21, 2009. New format for WWE TV-More Sizzle, Less Steak. Have you noticed it? Well, have you? Watching and recapping Monday Night RAW and ECW (Yours truly provides real-time recaps of both shows over at World Wrestling Insanity for my good friend Sir James Guttman), I've been noticing that the WWE seems to be providing a little bit more sizzle and a lot less steak over on its flagship show (RAW) as well as its showcase for new talent show (ECW. While Bischoff was by no means the first ...
