The Salt Journal » Thankfulness

http://thesaltjournal.com/thankfulness

A couple of blogs I follow write a weekly recap post on points to be thankful for from the past week and things learnt. This is something I always find really interesting and I have decided that I too will try and do a weekly recap of the things that I have learnt and been thankful for. This week I have been thankful for old friends. And living in the same city again! For free food from work and sharing it with others. For the generosity of strangers and the gift of a sofa! For the new KXC CD.

The Salt Journal » Pete and Beth’s Wedding

http://thesaltjournal.com/pete-and-beths-wedding

Pete and Beth’s Wedding. Last weekend Keith and I went up to Bristol to celebrate the wedding of our friends Pete and Beth. It was a gorgeous day and perfectly reflected their personalities. Beth studied photography at the same university I went to so as would be expected of a photographer her wedding was incredibly well documented. I don’t think I have ever seen so many professional cameras at a wedding before. Here are a few of my photographs from the day.

Therapy, or analysis, is not only something that analysts do to patients; it is a process that goes on intermittently in our individual soul-searching, our attempts at understanding our complexities, the critical attacks, prescriptions, and encouragements we give ourselves. We are all in therapy all the time insofar as we are involved in soul-making.". James Hillman, Re-visioning Psychology. James Hillman's Archetypal Psychology is inspired by Carl Jung. I have been working with Tenderstem. With polenta and chorizo crumbs (for when you want to impress your date) and a more relaxed pizza for when you’ve been together a bit longer and just fancy a slobbing out in front of the telly. Finally I’ve wrapped them in prosciutto with a hollandaise-style dip, which would make a lovely starter – or even brunch the next day. Smoky Three Cheese Polenta with Sautéed Tenderstem, Chorizo Crumbs and Parsley. 1 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil. 50g smoked cheese, grated.

Chocolate shop, which has been producing treats for the Romans since 1923. After stocking up on truffles and Easter eggs, we nipped in for dinner at Pastificio San Lorenzo. Across the road. An excellent place to try a few dishes that veered away from the pasta/pizza fare of the centre of town and the perfect place to people watch over an aperitivo. A grocer’s and butcher’s in Monti. Monti’s back streets. A florist in Monti taking a well-deserved break. Sicilian lemons and courgette flowers. Not least in ...

Is super silky and adds a wonderful crumbly texture to the cookies. If you can’t find it, you can either substitute with more plain flour or try adding a little cornflour. All photographs here are by Faith Mason. Do have a look at more of her work on her site! Kale, Cobnut and Blackberry Salad. 2 large handfuls cobnuts (or use shelled hazelnuts if out of season). 1 bag kale- i used a mixture of green and purple. 1 punnet black berries. 1 1/2 tbsp balsamic vinegar. 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil. I’ve become a bit of a dab hand when it comes to cheesy Valentine’s bakes. I recently made this. 8211; photographer extraordinaire. Pistachio, Pomegranate and Clementine Cheesecake. 200g digestive biscuits, blitzed to a fine crumb. 100g unsalted butter, melted. 75g shelled pistachios, finely chopped. 2 pomegranates, juice only (try my stain-free method in step 2). 2 tsp cornflour dissolved in 4 tsp water. 100g icing sugar, plus extra to taste. 300g cream cheese, room temperature.
