The ostomy community has united this week after the shocking tactics used by a police force in Cincinatti decided to use ostomies as a means to deter youths from gun violence. A lot of people i admire have blogged there responses to this and an online petition for an apology has been made and is circulating cyberspace. If You're Going To Beat It. Use The Sceach! Sceach (Skee-Yok) is the Gaelic word for Hawthorne. It is also a term used by Mothers across Ireland, particularly Gaelic speaking ones, to describe a branch of a tree used to beat the living daylights out of thier children. Many's the child has been sent outside to pick a sceach to be used on themselves. If it wasn't an appropriate sceach the child would be sent out again. ah sweet, sweet memories! My favourites are the "9 Fatty Sceach" and the "7 Fatty Sceach".
