Bless the Rains: We're not done yet, not going quietly into the night. Not me and my friends

Saturday, March 13, 2010. We're not done yet, not going quietly into the night. Not me and my friends. I've spent a lot of time since my return thinking about the friends I've left behind. What are they doing right now? What time is it on the ship? Do they miss me? It doesn't help that I'm in a transition period between Mercy Ships and graduate school (I got in! Bottom row: Marianne, me, Rachael, Annie Lou. Top row: Lyndsay, Bethany, Caitlin, Amy, Emma, Joy. I love you girls! Oh man, how do I tribute you?

The Adventures of Magango Woman: November 2012
http://theadventuresofmagangowoman.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
The Adventures of Magango Woman. Wednesday, November 7, 2012. Several years ago, I was reading Relevant Magazine when I stumbled across an ad for an organization called Light Gives Heat. They sold necklaces made by women in Uganda to provide sustainable employment for these women and a consistent income for their families. Although the $20 for the necklace was a bit steep for my standards back then, I forked it over, got my Classic necklace, and a love affair with Africa and Light Gives Heat was born.

Sunday, July 22, 2012. Summer Fun 2012 (before baby edition). Swimming, we did a lot of swimming, even got to bring some friends along a few times. Cheer practice without shoes and Popsicle breaks to escape the hot gym! Lunches and movies with Grandma, Aunt Linda sent Jo her very first (used) Coach purse. She filled it full of baby supplies for her brother and it goes everywhere with her. Three baby showers, feeling very loved and stocked on diapers for a while! Jo cried on the last day! His little part ...

The Adventures of Magango Woman: Camping with Dad
http://theadventuresofmagangowoman.blogspot.com/2012/08/camping-with-dad.html
The Adventures of Magango Woman. Monday, August 13, 2012. Dad picked up our park pass on his way into town while I finished up work for the week. I packed as quickly as I could, and then I led Dad on a wild goose chase trying to find Subway so we could get dinner. Eventually we found it (so close to where I live), got our food, and headed out of town. 8221; and waved us into the park. Not my favorite picture ever of me, but I felt cool at the time. The dry creek was looking a little weird! 8221; as I qui...

Ms Coulter asks what the point is of going to Africa, and asks if anyone can serve God in America anymore. Gallup.com. She gives some statistics about the murder rates and other horrors in America. The Adventures of Magango Woman: June 2012

The Adventures of Magango Woman. Sunday, June 24, 2012. The Stations of the Cross Shrine, San Luis, CO. The day after my waterfall hike, I decided to go to San Luis and see the Stations of the Cross Shrine. It’s a beautiful, winding hike up a hill with the Stations of the Cross depicted in large bronze statues. The guide book says that the statues are life size, which I take to mean that people were MUCH smaller back in Jesus’ day. Historical accuracy is always nice. Getting started, pre-eye incident.

http://theadventuresofmagangowoman.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
The Adventures of Magango Woman. Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Sunday evening I headed back to the dunes. It was overcast and I discovered that it had rained earlier in the day on the dunes. I was immediately upset that I had not brought my snow skate. The sand dunes website says that riding the dunes is best done after a rain. I would have to wait to find out if this is true. This is a thing, okay? My self portrait to prove I was there. Mostly prove to me. An entirely different place just a day later. Well,...

But for now, a recap of his past two years in pictures. What tremendous JOY he has brought us. God knew exactly what we needed when He gave us Tanner.
