Is a 100 Mile Dog Race from Haines Junction to Silver City and return, with racers spending the night in Silver City on the shores of Kluane Lake. The race occurs in early March, where teams enjoy the longer days of spring on one of the most scenic trails in the Yukon. What is the Silver Sled Race? Silver Sled Trail Map. The Chili Paw will be staged out of the Bear Creek Lodge,. 11 km north of Haines Junction on the Alaska Highway. Saturday March 5, 2016. Registration and Pre-Race Meeting officially begin at 9 am, but early folks may register as early as 8:45 am. Race begins at 10:15 am sharp. This Race is open to all mushers and ski-jorers aged 12 - Old! Dog-teams: Minimum 6 dogs, maximum 10. Youth (people, not dogs) dog-teams: Minimum 5 dogs, maximum 8.
