Tim Sokell and David McHarg were joined by Susan Moor, Judi Postle and Norma Hickey, who were expertly chauffeured for the day by Janet Barnett. Other gems in the exhibition (for me) are Basho’s writings made during his several journeys in Japan, and the typographic works of Andrew Richardson and Eiichi Kono. Monday, 7 May 2012. S is a 5 with a migraine. Above he demonstrates how to break a letter down into its component parts. It was also very reassuring to hear that he works out his embellishments in pencil first so that they do not have to be added freehand. In fact quite a lot of the design can be preplanned so that you know exactly where to place the strokes.
