Friday, August 31, 2007. As of this morning, it has been 10 years since i came out to live on the left coast. And just like the first morning when i woke up in whistler, my sleep came to an end with reports of princess diana's death and memorial. it was like a very weird flashback, and it's even weirder that my arrival here is connected with her death. auspicious beginning, no? Anyhoo - am taking the morning off work since i have to work a booth at the PNE (super dogs! Taught myself how to snowboard.

Sunday, July 6, 2008. Day 4 when jess learns that pole-vaulting is one of the most exciting sports in the world. Two hours later, i was parked at antzen stadium at the university of oregon waiting for the free shuttle and 20 minutes after that, i was at historic hayward field in the land of steve prefontaine (and yes, he certainly does live), track town USA and the land of nike.
