Monday, June 17, 2013. I'm slowing making some progress on the new design - it would be easier if Blogger would cooperate. New Header . . . love it. It's a mix a things that make up the Tharpes. I'll post about it soon. And just ignore the blue post titles and the gray boxes, oh and the shadows under the pics . . . as soon as Blogger starts working correctly again, that will all be taking care of. Moving on . . . . Yesterday was a big day for us. . . It was almost like coming full circle.

That officially makes me a pastor's wife, although I like to think I break that mold. I tend to want to go against the grain instead of being a Kingdom monitor . . . I'm partial to embracing the depravity in us all, realizing that it's only by the grace of Jesus we set foot on the floor each morning. And yes, twins do run in my family. Tuesday, July 23, 2013. And then there were 5. Since Deacon was little, we have [quote.unquote] prevented more kiddos. We knew that we were in the midst of a life change when he was a tot and weren't really sure what the future might look like for us. We had kinda always said four was our number, so the idea was also around, but never a high priority. Last fall, it was time to have my IUD out because the time limit for it was drawing near. If not, we love the ones we have and they're pretty freaking great.

It's Tomato Planting Time! These are the seeds that my husband saved last year. I thought they were pretty with the sunlight shining through them. Labor Day in South Carolina was very rainy, but we already had plans to go to the mountains. Our destination was supposed to be sliding rock. We promised our boys that we would go before summer was over. So, even though we woke up to gray skies and mist, we packed our towels, dry clothes, snacks, and headed up the Saluda Grade. Once we arrived in Pisgah, it was pouring. We inquired in the ranger station, and they confirmed our suspicions. Sliding rock was closed due to dangerous conditions.

The theme for Raw(e). This week is summertime. These tomatoes were picked from our garden just a few days ago. I look forward to summer for the fresh taste of heirloom tomatoes that my husband grows every year. The little ones are currant tomatoes (the big ones are Romas). They are sweet and explode in your mouth when you bite into them. They are perfect in a salad or pasta dish. My favorite tomato indulgence is actually a bacon tomato biscuit! When our bigger tomatos are ready I'll post a picture:).
