KD: #22 GxSA (Galaxy Summer Ale)
http://kristiandomagala.blogspot.com/2009/12/22-gxsa-galaxy-summer-ale.html
An online account of my brewing passion. Friday, December 4, 2009. 22 GxSA (Galaxy Summer Ale). Brewed: 12th November, 2009. The fourth batch in the Summer Ale series, this time using Galaxy hops instead of Nelson Sauvin. And still coming in slightly under the mash temperature despite the fact that it was way over temperature before I started mixing in properly! Oh well, something learned for next time. In terms of numbers, I didn't lose as much temperature over the hour compared to last time (1 degree i...

An online account of my brewing passion. Friday, December 11, 2009. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale tasting. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Was one of the original beers in the American microbrewery revolution of the late 70's. It's one that is often talked about on home brewing forums and beer appreciation sites, and is said to encapsulate the American Pale Ale style. Despite the warnings about it not traveling well, when I saw it on the beer menu at Brisbane's Era Bistro. I knew I had to give it a go. Luckily I was st...

http://kristiandomagala.blogspot.com/2010/03/24-gbsa-green-bullet-summer-ale.html
An online account of my brewing passion. Friday, March 5, 2010. 24 GBSA (Green Bullet Summer Ale). Brewed: 25th November, 2009. Time for a catch up post. I had used Green Bullet hops. I actually brewed this on the same day as the #23 German "Eis Pale Ale". Mashing in at the same time that the German ale was in the kettle, and it's the only time so far that I've done two brews in a day. Mind you, the German ale was already in sweet-wort. Australian Pale Malt: 4500g. Mash time: 60 minutes. Start: 64C End: ...

Zunker's Awesomest Blog: September 2007
http://zunkersmusic.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
The life of Zunker. Sunday, 30 September 2007. Regina Spektor with Only Son @ The Tivoli, Fortitude Valley (09/07/07). He was quite good with the crowd, quite self-deprecating which most Australian’s appreciate. He did win some fan with a little story about his new found love for koala bears. Which personal annoyed me, because they aren’t koala BEARS, they are koalas they are NOT BEARS. Regina then made her way slowly to the piano and said that she may be loopier than normal tonight due to the drugs for ...

Zunker's Awesomest Blog: Day 25 - Ostrog Monastery
http://zunkersmusic.blogspot.com/2012/10/day-25-ostrog-monastery.html
The life of Zunker. Tuesday, 2 October 2012. Day 25 - Ostrog Monastery. We had about an hour of free time when we arrived at the dorms to looks at the lower monastery and grounds. We then walked up to the upper monastery. The view was pretty spectacular but it was very hazey/smokey. We had a bit of a look around the monastery and went into the room where the remains of a Saint are kept supposedly unpreserved and not decomposing. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). KD: #34 BWB (BABBs Wild Brew)
http://kristiandomagala.blogspot.com/2010/02/34-bwb-babbs-wild-brew.html
An online account of my brewing passion. Sunday, February 28, 2010. 34 BWB (BABBs Wild Brew). Brewed: 19th February, 2010. With an estimated original gravity of 1.104 SG, this was by far the biggest brew I've ever attempted. The grain alone for this batch weighed in just under 8kg; three kilograms more for the same volume than the usual grain bill for the Summer Ales I have been brewing over the recent months. As I still only have a hand mill, I was lucky enough to get the grians pre-milled! My evaporati...
