Theatre & Production Work - Ria Keen Music
http://www.riakeen.com/theatre.html
Theatre / production work. There's nothing quite like working with a whole company of actors on their vocal chops! I love working on full-scale productions, helping actors and singers to bring out their best possible vocal performance. I've been lucky enough to do a lot of this over the years, in drama school productions, professional concert settings, amateur society shows and touring theatre. And the beautiful War and Peace - another cosy 6 hours of theatre. 8203;PRINCIPAL OF THE VOICE COLLEGE.

Voices Unlimited - The VU Sound - Ria Keen Music
http://www.riakeen.com/the-vu-sound.html
Worcestershire's biggest and most vibrant independent (not choir) vocal group! I am delighted to be the Musical Director of Voices Unlimited - a truly remarkable adult contemporary "choir" that is not part of one of the well-known franchises but stands proud, loud and independent! The arrangements are bespoke - I wouldn't dream of buying anything off the shelf, ever! And we're told that it's the arrangements plus the sheer. Improves the sound. Funny, that. What we don't do, unlike some other organisation...

My dad was (is! I was gigging by the time I was 12. Mostly as a 'guest artist'. D's shows. He never told anyone I was his daughter. "Stand or fall on your own merits" was the message. It sounds harsh, but he was teaching me a valuable life lesson. And happily, I rarely fell. At 18 I had the choice of drama school or starting work in the industry. And boy was I rubbish at it at first! Re from the local pub to major rock venues and stately homes. I ended up touring with P.J. Proby. And have had the privile...

Train to Teach Singing with VIDLA - Ria Keen Music
http://www.riakeen.com/teacher-training.html
I founded The Voice College (previously VIDLA) back in 2001, after recognising a need in the industry for training courses for singing teachers. At The Voice College. We train singers to be singing teachers - properly qualified singing teachers who undergo rigorous training followed by assessment of their teaching skills in a real world teaching environment. We have the support of some fabulous people beyond our core teaching team, the first of whom is one of our Patrons, John Owen-Jones, the musical the...

Lydian Modes: Lehigh Choral Composers Forum: Day 2
http://lydian-modes.blogspot.com/2016/06/lehigh-choral-composers-forum-day-2.html
The Many Modes and Moods of a Musing Musician. Tuesday, 21 June 2016. Lehigh Choral Composers Forum: Day 2. Oh, how to work in these conditions. Particular highlights for me were the pieces created by David Neches (who really highlighted the circus themes of the text), and Andrew Bonacci and Michael Fairbairns, who both used some beautiful harmonic chord progressions. I've also got to praise Michael for the absolutely stunning tenor solo he performed for my piece! You don't need to use all the words, you...
