Ambitious plans are in the works for the Walton, including ground-floor commercial space and condominiums on the upper floors, while the construction of a fourth floor will be considered in conjunction with the Port Hope branch of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario. The Walton will not be abandoned for much longer Port Hope resident William Ryan who purchased the building in the spring of 2012 plans to revitalize this landmark property, while staying true to its architectural roots. You can read more about this project here. Keep an eye out for one of my favourite finds a pencil drawing that was discovered under a section of peeling wallpaper in one of the rooms on the second floor of The Walton.
