Welcome to the Washington Ringing Society. The Washington Ringing Society (WRS) is the Washington DC area’s change-ringing. Organization. Washington has two towers with bells hung for the traditional English art of change ringing the Old Post Office Tower (OPOT) and Washington National Cathedral. The WRS rings at both towers and several members of the group also get together regularly for change ringing on handbells. Tuesday Evening Practice: 7:00 8:30 PM. Visitors should contact the Area Representative.

Learning to Ring in Washington - What's Required? Interest, enthusiasm, patience, and time. It takes 6-12 months to really learn just the basics! Attendance at a Washington Ringing Society (WRS) Ringing Course:. This course involves two or three day-long sessions of intensive hands-on instruction in the basics of handling - individual bell control – and some ringing theory. We hold a course once or twice a year on two or three consecutive Saturdays, 10am –4pm.
