They had quite a few large birds (owl, hawk, eagle). This guy had lovely orange eyes and didn't get spooked with all the people surrounding him. Kate thought it would be cool to touch him. Below is a quick clip of Kate (playing the trumpet) in the wind ensemble rehearsal the first time they met together. They already sounded great, so after 2 full days of rehearsal they were amazing! We are still on a tourist status visa in China so that means that every 30 days we leave the country to do a "border run".aka get our passports stamped.
