Primitive Weapons: eBay updates
http://primitiveweapons.blogspot.com/2010/05/ebay-updates.html
A blog about hunting and fishing technology, both contemporary and ancient. Monday, May 24, 2010. Didn't do as well as I'd hoped to. I ended up winning three knives: A WWI era Gurkha kukri knife from Nepal, a contemporary Tuareg dagger, and an interesting handmade WWII theater knife. Prices ended up being on the lower side, which is a good thing. I may end up selling the WWII knife and possibly the kukri - I'll have to see how it compares to my other kukri. Another Central African harpoon. Knife with a d...

Primitive Weapons: July 2008
http://primitiveweapons.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
A blog about hunting and fishing technology, both contemporary and ancient. Monday, July 7, 2008. I'm afraid this blog is turning into my commentary on eBay items. Interesting Ethiopian spearhead. I think these are more like processional staffs or badges of office; they are too delicate to be working weapons. These are selling for. Nice contemporary Maasai moran. Spear, made from truck springs. Well-made piece, no patina (they are kept bright and polished in use, anyway. Selling for. Be turkey, and authe...

Primitive Weapons: A simple harpoon from the Sahel area
http://primitiveweapons.blogspot.com/2010/06/simple-harpoon-from-sahel-area.html
A blog about hunting and fishing technology, both contemporary and ancient. Tuesday, June 1, 2010. A simple harpoon from the Sahel area. The harpoon is thick and sturdy-looking. I'd use it. I wonder what it was intended for.there are some pretty big fish in African rivers, as well as hippos, crocs, manatees - but I'd conservatively assume it was intended for large fish. Length (overall): About 10". Length (blades/points): About 7 1/2". Length (other dimensions): Socket is about 2 1/2". It's Wolber. N...
