The woven string: I think God made a mistake

http://thewovenstring.blogspot.com/2010/12/i-think-god-made-mistake.html

Thursday, December 23, 2010. I think God made a mistake. When Pearce was eight years old, he experienced a taste of what his life would be like if Skye was not a special needs brother. In 1998, we decided to try a special school for Skylar that was located in. We had no idea if the unique way that they teach would be able to break through to Skylar, so rather than move our family, we chose the rigorous path of traveling each weekend. Jim “moved” to. http://thewovenstring.blogspot.com/2010/12/when-boy-meets-wall.html

Sunday, December 5, 2010. When Boy Meets Wall. We have been blessed during our lifetime to know some very wonderful people. It is always interesting when Skye meets someone because regardless of our preparation, we never really know how he will behave at the appointed moment. About five years ago, we became friends with a delightful young man, Derrick Chambers. If you know Derrick, you know that he looks like a walking wall. He played on the National Championship team for the. The sweet part of this stor...

A collection of recipes and encouragement. Monday, September 22, 2014. So, I'm meeting myself coming and going these days, but I HAD to share this recipe! To celebrate Fall and all things pumpkin, I made a Pumpkin Pie Smoothie for lunch today, and it did not disappoint. 1 Cup Plain Kefir. 1/2 Cup Pumpkin Purée. 1/2 Banana, frozen. 1 Tbsp Pecans (I mash mine before I put them in). 2 Tbsp Sweetened Condensed Milk. 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract. Mix it and blend it. Happy Fall, Y'all! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Feeding Angels: Cinnamon Rolls [Whole Wheat, Low Sugar]

http://feedingangels.blogspot.com/2013/01/cinnamon-rolls-whole-wheat-low-sugar.html

A collection of recipes and encouragement. Thursday, January 3, 2013. Cinnamon Rolls [Whole Wheat, Low Sugar]. Drizzling maple syrup over the roll in stead of icing adds sweetness while keeping it natural. 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (or one yeast packet). 1/2 cup warm water (between 90 and 105 degrees F). 1/2 cup scalded milk (it is very important that you scald the milk). 1/4 cup natural sugar (I use Florida Crystals organic cane sugar most of the time). 6 Tbsp organic butter, melted. 3 cups apple cider.

Feeding Angels: August 2014

http://feedingangels.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

A collection of recipes and encouragement. Friday, August 15, 2014. It's probably 3am. I don't know because the clock numbers are too small and too far away for me to see them from my bed, and I don't want to check my phone. I'm just guessing since that's my usual 'wake up and have trouble going back to sleep' time. I lay there for a minute and wonder what it meant. A lot So, that's awesome! My 4th grader can hold his own, though. Serious props to all you teachers out there! I'm pretty sure I got what I ...

Feeding Angels: Pinterest Success: Pizza Waffles

http://feedingangels.blogspot.com/2015/06/pinterest-success-pizza-waffles.html

A collection of recipes and encouragement. Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Pinterest Success: Pizza Waffles. You know those things you see on Pinterest and think, cool idea, but after you try it you realize it's just a poorly thought out theory. Or, at least, for someone with your skill set. Well, I saw this cool idea on Pinterest. Pizza rolls on the waffle iron? Yes, I smooshed the handle pushing down on the dough. Why is the handle even there? I usually push down on the sides anyway. I Think God is Beautiful.

Feeding Angels: I'm Running Away

http://feedingangels.blogspot.com/2014/11/im-running-away.html

A collection of recipes and encouragement. Tuesday, November 4, 2014. I want to participate in National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo), but I'm not really good at that kind of thing. So, I started another blog. I've been writing a lot lately. Thing is, by the time I get it out and read back through it, I usually feel like it's either not worth publishing or not appropriate to publish. The three usual things I write about aren't working right now. I love to run. I love to talk about running. I think every...

Feeding Angels: June 2015

http://feedingangels.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

A collection of recipes and encouragement. Monday, June 8, 2015. I Think God is Beautiful. What would they think? Would they delete it all as the ranting of a crazy person or publish it all as powerful words from the grave? Maybe I should clean that folder out. Or not. Or write a post with instructions about what to do with everything in it if something did happen to me. Or just hold onto them all and ponder the courage it would take to hit that little orange button and put it all out there. You know tho...

Feeding Angels: Food Philosophy

http://feedingangels.blogspot.com/p/food-philosophy.html

A collection of recipes and encouragement. When I eat junk, I feel like junk. I'm cranky and crabby, weak and emotional. Not to mention, I'd become skinny-fat. 1 Food is NOT Fuel. I am not a machine. Food is not merely what I use to power my body. Flavor and the pleasure of eating are important! God gave me taste-buds, smell receptors and eyes so that I am able to enjoy the food I eat, and I intend to do just that. 2 Fat is not evil. 3 Natural sugar is not evil. December 14, 2013 at 3:39 AM. The doctor I...

Feeding Angels: June 2014

http://feedingangels.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html

A collection of recipes and encouragement. Saturday, June 7, 2014. Apparently, I Can't Streak. I started the Runner's World Run Streak #RWrunstreak on Memorial Day. I've run at least a mile every day since, and I plan to continue running until July 4th at the Peachtree Road Race. My legs feel stronger than they ever have, and I really enjoy the challenge. Maybe I'll keep going. Maybe I'll streak for a year. Maybe I shouldn't get too far ahead of myself. Thursday, June 5, 2014. The Integrity of the Dress.

Feeding Angels: On Record, Off Pinterest

http://feedingangels.blogspot.com/2015/02/on-record-off-pinterest.html

A collection of recipes and encouragement. Sunday, February 8, 2015. On Record, Off Pinterest. You know how people claim to hate social media because they hate seeing all the perfect people posting their perfect lives and it upsets them because either they know it isn't true or they compare themselves and come up short? I get irritated when people post so much negative it makes me want to block them from my news feed, but that's a topic for another day.). Fat, funny looking little things. Well, at least ...

the woven nest

Nidificate verb to build a nest. Saturday, 15 August 2015. A quick, thrifty makeover. Down the road from the fabric shop are two charity shops. So after perusing the fabric isles, pondering which lovely fabric to purchase for my next home made closet project, I pottered up the road. This size 18 top, I thought with a bit of creativeness would make rather a pretty petticoat, so it came home with me. I chopped of the top, took of the buttons and stitched up the opening where the buttons had been. A hive of...

Woven Threads

A record of my life, my thoughts and the pictures to accompany them both. Monday, October 20, 2014. Here I am trying to backlog a few things that are sorely overdue to be posted. This post contains pictures from my trips to England to visit my my girlfriend Kat and her family back in the winter of 2013. An exceptional country that I can not wait to return to and explore those places I had missed the first time around. The butcher of Lacock. Obviously the right place to sit down for a cuppa. While attendi...
