All It Takes Is One Book | The Yeti Says
https://theyetisays.wordpress.com/2013/09/18/authors-you-will-fall-in-love-with
Reading Goals / Events. The Dusty Bookshelf Challenge. All It Takes Is One Book. September 18, 2013. I just finished The Book Thief. A fantastic book, one I’ll treasure forever, thank you. Much for the recommendation Raya. It’s not the first book – even though that’s what sucks you in – but the series as a whole that I fall in love with. And even if an author writes stand-alones, it usually takes more than a book or two for me to start declaring my undying love for them. Knows how to find the right words.

Enter Sandman! | Green Paw-Paw

May 13, 2012. No, I’m not talking about Metallica. Even though I’ve been reading other books in between, I’ve really been going through a whole Neil Gaiman phase. It started when I let talks of how I would. This guy, how his writing was. Like I’d ever read before, how positively. He is get to me. So I finally picked up. Which he co-wrote with Terry Pratchett (who I have yet to read). And then I read. Next on the list. 8211; The Graveyard Book. So, do I love him? Does he write like anybody else I know?

April 20, 2012. Once Upon A Time. With A Knick-Knack, Paddy-Whack, Give Your Shelf A Bone? I spent the last two days reading. Again But this time, in colour! I was at the library, looking for. No, I haven’t read it yet), when I spotted a shelf dedicated to Jeff Smith’s. I pulled an issue off the shelf, saw that it was in colour, did my usual squeaky-happy-I-can’t-believe-I-found-this dance, realised I was in a library (and there were people staring), picked them up and ran. Come on, people! I didn’...
Mistborn. Why Did I Wait So Long To Read You? | Green Paw-Paw
https://greenpawpaw.wordpress.com/2012/08/27/mistborn-why-did-i-wait-so-long-to-read-you
August 27, 2012. Mistborn. Why Did I Wait So Long To Read You? What a book. WHAT a book. I’m scared my review won’t do it justice. At the time that Carl. Was hosting a Mistborn group-read, my book was still travelling all over the world, desperate to get to me. Oh, Universe, why? Book take so long to arrive? And then, when it did, of course it was perfectly timed with my mid-terms. Of course. So, I’ve been a good little girl, and I’m done with exams for a while, and I even put up a. Never Let Me Go.

August 14, 2012. Hello, Writers’ Bloc People! We (finally) start our first ever group-read! Week 1: Aug 14th to Aug 19th : Chapter 1 to 6. Week 2: Aug 20th to Aug 25th : Chapter 7 to 12. Week 3: Aug 26th to Aug 31st : Chapter 12 to 19. That makes it an average of about 100 pages or so every week. We have decided to hand over the discussion to two readers every week one who is reading the book for the first time, and another who already has just to cover all bases. So far, Matt Watson. Laquo; Previous post.

July 4, 2012. Amulet (Or) A Case For Why You Shouldn’t Take Children’s Literature Lightly. Fact of life : when a Literary Tiger. Tells you to get on with your book reviews, you listen. You don’t want to end up being tiger-chow. Has been on my to-read list for a very, very long time. After getting nowhere with. Boy, was I disappointed. A lot of reviews compared this to. And while I can see similarities here and there, the fact of the matter is:. Is an all-ages book — everybody who reads it should. It̵...
Week One of The Hobbit Group-Read | Green Paw-Paw
https://greenpawpaw.wordpress.com/2012/08/23/week-one-of-the-hobbit-group-read
August 23, 2012. Week One of The Hobbit Group-Read. This post is going to be super-quick. Lightning McQueen, ka-chow, and all that. 1 In the book Bilbo gets visited by 13 strange dwarves, and just lets them in to eat his cakes and drink tea. In the modern world it would be really weird if people just started barging in your home. Why didn’t Bilbo just tell them to go? 2 Where would the dwarves and Bilbo be if Gandalf wasn’t with them? It’s seems to me that it’s him who saves them from the scary situations.

A new blog: I’ve moved! In my last post. Nearly a year ago, forgive me) I mentioned that MCM would be abandoned in favor of a new blog. I also said that I would introduce my virtual niche once it was properly up and running, and I have to apologize. It’s been up for a while not for too long, but long enough. You can check it out here. If you like. Some things to note:. By Yangsze Choo and will review it. There are no specific weeks or days that I dedicate to books or TV and film. May 9, 2012. A Tub Full Of Gratitude. Bring out the jugglers and champagne bottles, it’s award time! Time for me to tell you (yes, you) how much it means to me that you’re reading this. When I started this blog a few months ago, I was pretty sure I was going to have to take it down after a month or so. I started it to record my progress in the Fifty Fifty challenge. I was having serious conversations with wonderful people about books, and music, and movies! Seven things about me? I’ve always, alway...

https://midnightcoffeemonster.wordpress.com/2013/09/20/summer-2013-book-haul
Summer 2013 Book Haul. Books accumulated over the summer, and I meant to share them earlier. Earlier as in last month. “There’s still time,” I said, my brain melting into goo as I marathoned. Okay, so I procrastinated on this post, but it’s all right. I’m here now–and with a new shipment of books. Oh, gosh, look! The Dark Victorian: Risen, Vol. 1. The Night of the Comet. By George Bishop (ARC). The Boy Who Could See Demons. By Carolyn Jess-Cooke (ARC). The Orphanage of Miracles. The Night of the Comet.

Pro-simplicity. Writer lacks comprehension of modern materialistic society. Friday, March 13, 2015. Those Iditarod Complainers Again! For some delusional reason, I thought that the Iditarod sled dog race wasn't that controversial anymore in the Lower 48. After all, the days of mushers whipping dogs, beating or eating them are long gone. I even saw the comment: "that it is archaic". Of course it's archaic! Because it is actually hard! Alaska is the most dog filled state in the USA. I honestly don't ev...

The Yeti's Roar. Thoughts that require more than 140 characters. Conservative atheists aren’t the problem- A response to Greta Christina. On April 14th, blogger Greta Christina posted this screed. Greta Christina’s laundry list of petty grievances. The first incident that Ms. Christina mentions involves blackface. At first glance, this appears like it could be troubling indeed. Was somebody going around at the American Atheists dressed in blackface? Reasonable people do not condone violent acts against t...
