How Do You Know You’re a Writer? | The Wonder Writer

Mathilda Wheeler's Amazing Blog! Lolly Plays a Trick. Where’s that Time to Write? How Do You Know You’re a Writer? May 8, 2011. Its because I always have a pen, right? Writers write. Right? If you’re a writer, you have to write, otherwise you’re not a WRITER. You can be a writer even if you never write. You get pleasure from scratching out words on paper. Maybe you doodle them. Maybe you play with planting panting p s in perfectly predictable places. It gives you an inner giggle. Here’s the thing. Maybe ...

A Rambling Theologian at Large: Make a Wish
http://ramblingtheologian.blogspot.com/2009/11/make-wish.html
A Rambling Theologian at Large. Theological musings and mutterings as I go through life. Sunday, November 1, 2009. Amitabh Bachchan as Genius, the genie, in Aladin. My grown son, David, and I went to Aladin. This weekend, the new Hindi movie starring Amitabh Bachchan as the genie. See a promo. The quality and consistency of which is an inspiration to bloggers everywhere. It got me thinking about the fact that the Bible has a "wish fulfillment" story, though not the traditional three wishes of the fairy t...

A Rambling Theologian at Large: Fan-dom and God
http://ramblingtheologian.blogspot.com/2010/07/fan-dom-and-god.html
A Rambling Theologian at Large. Theological musings and mutterings as I go through life. Friday, July 2, 2010. In the past year or so, I have discovered the interesting world of fan-dom. Up to this point, I have occasionally admired actors, directors, authors, and politicians but the desire to connect with them never became acute. I figured that there was nothing I could say or do that would ever register on their radar, and so there was no particular point in making any effort. A Fan of God. A place to ...

A Rambling Theologian at Large: On Rat Nests and Life
http://ramblingtheologian.blogspot.com/2011/07/on-rat-nests-and-life.html
A Rambling Theologian at Large. Theological musings and mutterings as I go through life. Wednesday, July 27, 2011. On Rat Nests and Life. All of this is a trivial and somewhat disgusting part of personal hygiene. And yes, over the years I HAVE managed to get somewhat better at dealing with these before they grow too big. I have better hair brushes, and I've learned to pay a bit more attention. I have years when I don't grow any rat nests at all. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Links to My Other Blogs.

A Rambling Theologian at Large: Aik Alif (Only an A/Only One Thing)

A Rambling Theologian at Large. Theological musings and mutterings as I go through life. Wednesday, August 12, 2009. Aik Alif (Only an A/Only One Thing). Noori, one of the groups I saw in Chautauqua. And the group that performed this song). I wrote most of this when it was fresh in my mind, but never posted it. You read to become all knowledgeable. But you never read yourself. You run to enter your mosques and temples. But you never entered your own heart. Every day you fight Satan. Stop seeking this kno...

Windmill Songs: It is for Freedom, Galatians 5:1
http://windmillsongs.blogspot.com/2013/11/it-is-for-freedom-galatians-51.html
Wednesday, November 6, 2013. It is for Freedom, Galatians 5:1. Another Bible memory verse song, but this one contains commentary in a companion song (or part) that is sung simultaneously. Sort of like the way Judas and Jesus sing different songs that blend together in "All for the Best" from Godspell. Of course, not nearly as musically sophisticated as that, but I had that in mind as I wrote this, as well as the way the parts join together in songs like Power in the Blood. Posted by Crossing Rebecca.

Windmill Songs: Vessels for the King
http://windmillsongs.blogspot.com/2011/10/vessels-for-king.html
Friday, October 14, 2011. Vessels for the King. Not only, "I'll never live through this," but "Why does He deal differently with that one? He strokes the clay, and breaks the gold and silver ore with his hammer. Sand is thrown instantly into the fire, and then is shaped not by banging, but by the breath of God. And wood knows only gentle, gentle heat- followed by the knife, and long, long seasons of being rubbed with grit. And in this mighty storehouse, I am drawn to look closer at a burlwood bowl. T...

Windmill Songs: Table of Contents

Of course, you can find these by searching, or by opening up the archives, but I find that sometimes it's nice just to be able to glance down a list of linked titles. These are the titles of the songs in the order that I posted them here. Do Not Despise the Day of Small Beginnings or Why I am Not Writing a Novel. Prayer (Sometimes I Feel Foolish). Sheer Koheleth, the Song of Ecclesiastes. No God but God. Of Paper and Pens. Vessels for the King. The Mountain of the LORD. Make Us a People.
