Simple Yogurt Instructions – Gluten Free in Vermont
https://glutenfreeinvt.wordpress.com/2015/01/15/simple-yogurt-instructions
Gluten Free in Vermont. Healthy grain free and gluten free options in the Green Mountain State. January 15, 2015. 1 Buy really good milk. The higher the fat content, the more delicious the yogurt will be. My first choice is raw milk straight from the farm. My second choice is a high quality, preferably organic whole milk. (In my family, we call it the “red milk” because of the red caps/labels.). 7 Most yogurt is done after 8 hours. If you want to remove all the lactose, continue heating it for 24 hou...

Storyteller. Sewist. Running Yogi. Wife. Pug lover. Fit Post – Day 29. July 15, 2013. July 23, 2013. It has been twenty-nine days since The Color Run – Denver, and in that time, a few things have happened that I never would have imagined:. I fell in love with climbing. I chose to register for the Electric Run instead of buying Muse tickets. I added Pink and 3OH3 to my workout playlist. I bought a real pair of running shoes. I bought a trail bike. Riding said trail bike. Taught by Chris Wall. And then the...

Countdown to the BolderBOULDER | Jenn's Pen

Storyteller. Sewist. Running Yogi. Wife. Pug lover. Countdown to the BolderBOULDER. May 21, 2014. May 21, 2014. I have many goals for 2014. I wrote them all down on a nice crisp sheet of college ruled notebook paper and pinned them to my inspiration board beside my writing desk. Number three, below cultivating calmness and patience, was “run the BolderBoulder. I picked up C25K again 4 weeks ago and was feeling great. After a minor 2 week set back due to lack of time (stupid finals and overtime at wor...

Run Eat pizza. Repeat. Learning to Love Muscle. January 27, 2016. On Monday morning, I asked my hubby to help me zip up my favorite dress. I exhaled as he pulled up the zipper and fastened the clasp. I took a deep breath in, and realized with a sinking feeling…despite dedicated training for almost 2 months, my dress didn’t fit. Focus on the training. Focus on doing the thing. Focus on my eyes popping up over that bar. Focus on loving the muscles that will get me there. The rest will come. Bodies are amaz...

Run Eat pizza. Repeat. February 26, 2014. February 26, 2014. There is a difference between running and run training. When I set out in the beginning of this month to start training for the Deer Lake 67. See, I have this thing. This drive. This compulsion that makes me want to achieve everything that I set out for me to do. Somewhere along the line, someone told me I could do anything I wanted. Isn’t that sweet? Is this working for me? How can I make it better? I don’t mean to belittle the challenge...

Beautiful Beginnings | The Holistic Fit

Run Eat pizza. Repeat. April 1, 2015. April 1, 2015. Cultivating a list of things to accomplish in a month is tricky. Too much, and we set ourselves up for failure. Too little, and will we feel like we got anywhere? So, here it is. My list of April intentions. They are not in any particular order, though I think I left the last one last on purpose. Don’t we usually leave that which we fear the most for the end? This “PAD” stands for. And the name alone makes me feel intimidated. To a long, dreary aabb rh...

When it Clicks | The Holistic Fit

Run Eat pizza. Repeat. August 4, 2015. It was somewhere between the opening ‘hug your neighbour’ and closing group savasana of last night’s epic, Signal Hill yoga class that something clicked. I moved in time with 200 yogis of various levels of practice with confidence and good humour. I say good humour simply because the joy of yoga is really accepting where your body is on that given day rather than asking it to continuously. Are you ready to do this? Are you here yet? Isn’t this too. Ah yea. Food&...

I am the proudest. Okay, whispering, really. Panorama from Mt. Liberty. courtesy J. Sanderson. I’ll start this post by saying, just say yes. Say yes, even if you are pretty sure you are not trained enough to tackle it. Say yes because this might be the only chance you will get. This is turning out to be one helluva Summer Of Adventure. Between planning for and then executing the whole Dames Across Rhode Island run. Putting our house on the market. My first thought was, OF COURSE I WOULD! Um, you know?

Run Eat pizza. Repeat. The Freedom of Failure. February 18, 2015. February 18, 2015. I’ve failed. Horribly. A year ago, that statement terrified me more than spiders. Yes, yes. Spiders are small and insignificant. But they have so many legs and they make traps! Failure is something that I am not good at…uh…accepting. In fact, I avoid it. I pull the plug as soon as I catch a whiff of that old demon clawing its way into my life. I just walk away. It doesn’t matter how. I am all that and a box of chocolates.
