Monday, September 22, 2014. These boys really worked hard staining our new-to-us playset. Tuesday, September 16, 2014. The Many Faces of Archery. Madsen is all boy and asks nearly every week if he can shoot arrows. He's a pretty good shot, too. Andy steadies the bow, but Madsen aims, pulls, and releases. The kid can hit the target (a tree) 9 out of 10 times - no joke. Wes was practicing piano at first, but was able to come take a few shots before I headed in to make dinner. Friday, April 6, 2012. Yeah it's all pretty exciting. I love how creative everyone gets and how silly and possessive they all get over "their eggs." Once they are all dyed they look so pretty that its sometime hard to crack them open and eat them. Thursday, September 29, 2011. The last golden days of summer. We have had an unusually warm September. A few weeks ago the girls were upstairs changing clothes again (a daily occurrence that drives me to distraction) and came down in their swimsuits. It was a hot day so I gave in and let them all go out and play in the sprinklers. One last day in the sun as summer slips away from us. Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Tuesday, September 20, 2011. My grandma celebrated her 99th birthday this past weekend!

Micaela read in Grandma McKinley's journal about Hernando's Hideaway and wanted to reenact it. She made it as much like a real restaurant as she could. I wish I took more pictures but I seem to always photograph the beginning of an event and then get too wrapped up in the activities to remember to use the camera again! She made the sign. She arranged the dining area. She even made menus to hand out. Appetizer: mixed nuts and a green salad. Main course: Cheeseburger or Chicken strips. We did that a bit.
