http://poisonivywalloftext.blogspot.com/2015/06/midsummers-night-dream-exciting-debuts.html
Poison Ivy's Wall of Text. Art, life, and other scribblings. Sunday, June 7, 2015. Midsummer's Night Dream - Exciting Debuts. A Midsummer's Night Dream. Has become the traditional way to close the NYCB's spring season. Because the ballet requires so many moving parts (a huge cast of soloists, the entire corps de ballet, plus a large contingent of SAB students) sometimes casting for this ballet can be a bit stale. If it ain't broke, why fix it? So how was she? Miller was not alone in making an anticipated...

Poison Ivy's Wall of Text. Art, life, and other scribblings. Sunday, April 26, 2015. Theres something to be said for a musical that doesnt attempt to be anything more than a rollicking good time. Something Rotten! Wednesday, April 22, 2015. On the Town: Best in Show. This is going to seem like a PSA rather than a review but: run, dont walk to see the wonderful revival of On the Town. In fame but for On the Town. He wrote a helluva score. Theres something to please everyone: jaunty production numbers ...

http://poisonivywalloftext.blogspot.com/2011/07/mariinsky-in-carmen-and-symphony-in-c.html
Poison Ivy's Wall of Text. Art, life, and other scribblings. Sunday, July 17, 2011. Mariinsky in Carmen and Symphony in C. July 16 and 17, 2011. Ballet season officially ended for me tonight with a double bill of the Mariinsky Ballet in Carmen. And Symphony in C. The Mariinsky opened both last night and tonight with Alberto Alonso's Carmen. The real reason I attended both performances was of course to see Balanchine's masterpiece Symphony in C. Part of the joy of seeing the Mariinsky in Symphony in C.

Poison Ivy's Wall of Text. Art, life, and other scribblings. Tuesday, February 17, 2015. La Donna del Lago. This is a weird way to begin a review but the thing I kept thinking of at tonights premiere of La Donna del Lago. Was that Seinfeld episode when Kramer is driving with Georges mother and in the middle of a casual conversation he stops short with the car. This causes much awkwardness all around. What does stopping short have to do with Rossini? Thursday, February 5, 2015. Winter Season at NYCB.

Poison Ivy's Wall of Text. Art, life, and other scribblings. Sunday, May 17, 2015. A good example would be the three casts of La Sylphide. Here are the major casts:. Cast 2 May 16 mat: Ashley Bouder (Sylph), Andrew Veyette (James), Joseph Gordon (Gurn), Megan LeCrone (Effie), Marika Anderson (Madge). Or S quare Dance. A ballet I have almost no tolerance for. Poison Ivy's Wall of Text: Mad Men Finale
http://poisonivywalloftext.blogspot.com/2015/05/mad-men-finale_18.html
Poison Ivy's Wall of Text. Art, life, and other scribblings. Monday, May 18, 2015. The image I'll take away from last night's Mad Men. Series finale isn't the Coke commercial that Don apparently dreamed up after he found peace in a California commune. It isn't Joan kicking ass and starting her own company and also getting rid of that rich retired guy (although that was wonderful). It isn't Stan and Peggy getting together (although that was nice too). I loved that moment because Mad Men. There were a mill...
