Threads in the Wind: July 2008

http://threadsinthewind.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Threads in the Wind. My knitting, crocheting, reading, cooking, and traveling life in retirement. Tuesday, July 15, 2008. A Turista in Arizona. We went to Tombstone. The Town Too Tough To Die. Used to stop here. Not a method of travel I would have favored, but it was the Greyhound bus of its time. Tombstone is perhaps best remembered as the site of the Gunfight at the OK Corral. Another day, we traveled to Sabino Canyon. Provided breathtaking scenery as well as a breath of cool air. We picnicked in a...

Threads in the Wind. My knitting, crocheting, reading, cooking, and traveling life in retirement. Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Progress on the Hobbit Shawl. It has been very hot here for about a week- upper 90s to 100s. Even though we have air-conditioning and the house is usually comfortably cool, I just haven't felt like working on larger projects. However, yesterday and today I made myself crochet for a while on my Hobbit Shawl for the One Shawl to Rule Them All KAL/CAL on Ravelry. Links to this post.

Various events are held throughout the month by the Academy of American Poets and other poetry organizations. The Academy has a website here. To a young child.

Threads in the Wind. My knitting, crocheting, reading, cooking, and traveling life in retirement. Sunday, April 24, 2011. A Burst of Color. Whether the flower or the color is the focus I do not know. Welcome to the Biker Patch House

In our experience as riders, we found it hard to get a quality patch in a reasonable amount of time. And those metal name tags were getting tangled in our hair! That's why we decided to create our own patches, and since 1992 we have been sending them all over the U.S. We are proud to be able to offer them on the internet. We offer our famous "Rocker" style name patch, as well as chevrons, officer, event, award, group, and memory patches for motorcycle vests and jackets. PRINT and MAIL ORDER FORM.

Threads in the needle. Velvet and linen heart. Using the heart as a symbol of love can be traced back to the middle ages when it was being widely used by the C16th. When Valentine’s Day originated in England in the 1600s the heart was adopted as its symbol. These days, as well as being the symbol of Valentine’s Day, the heart motif is popular on clothing and homewares. Why don’t you make one for your home? Threads In Time by Pallas

July 5, 2015. I have been absent from my blog since the end of May, and thought I'd catch up with a post about our trip to Kentucky the beginning of June. We spend every summer and fall in Kentucky. We take about a week or more to drive from California to Kentucky in order to see family, and to also see a little bit of the country along the way. We didn't stop at any of the National Parks in Utah this year, but there are places to stop and see the beautiful state just about everywhere. Maura, Jim and John.
