Nicholson family history
The story so far. I was born a Nicholson. Having spent a disproportionately large amount of time researching my maternal grandfather's Skingley roots. I thought it was about time I paid attention to my father's side. Chimes Musical Theatre | Sharing our music 1987-2007
Chimes Musical Theatre was created by Cassie Tillett in 1987, and performed forty-eight concerts over the next twenty years. The first concert was called Just a song at teatime. The charities for which we raised funds ranged from the Cot Death Foundation to Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, from St Peter and St James Hospice to the Vauxhall Four Peaks Challenge, from stately home restoration to an assortment of church building funds.

Welcome to the Tillett family website. Is your name Tillett? Then find a large map of the UK, and a pencil. Draw a straight line from King's Lynn in Norfolk south-eastwards to West Mersea in Essex. Some Tilletts started off in France. They were Huguenots (Protestants) who fled from France when the laws tolerating their religion were repealed in 1685. Some of them settled in East Anglia, but the majority went to London.

We started the year with a repeat visit to Somerset for our post-Christmas escape - The George in Castle Cary, which is always a good place to be. Bank Holiday weekend 2004, Saturday 28th August. A horde of Tillett-linked folks - everybody descended from Benjamin Tillett, 1821-1888 - descended on the Rectory. (We should be good at this, having done the equivalent jamborees for the Nicholson. Families in the past.) Not as large a horde as we'd hoped (the original plans took in 70 people from various continents), but as you'll see from the photos below, we weren't exactly lonely! Whole group in the places they appear on the printed tree.
